Professional Experience:

Mechanical Engineer – Hyundai Motor Manufacturing of Alabama, 6/13 to Present

Recruited to validate and test mechanical, electrical, and design components for a leading auto manufacturer. Worked on the Engine Supplier Quality Control team to ensure quality engine parts and components were used to assemble three types of engines.

Recorded, documented, and reported testing data obtained during routine or random verifications and checks.

Provided and implemented quality improvement ideas to improve upon the testing laboratory.

Performed comparison studies between various installation methods performed by Hyundai team members to provide the most efficient and part sensitive assembly methods possible. Extensive research and testing was provided on troublesome assembly line part installation and assembly methods of the engine.

Discovery of out of specification or defective parts is handled accordingly. Consultation and collaboration with team members and management is crucial to determine the part suspect range. The localized defective parts are quarantined and taken out of the production line sequence to neutralize the threat of the contaminated parts being installed in the engines.

Assisted in quality defect sorts to locate, quarantine, and fix any problematic parts that may have made it into engines.

Maintained and managed ES/MS laboratory to ensure proper testing procedures and methods were performed.

Directed Hyundai team member in their daily testing responsibilities. Guided and taught new procedures and methods.

Facilitated improvement activities in areas of cost reduction and supplier part quality with the end result of improving profitability and quality.

Purchasing of lab testing materials or testing equipment parts was performed when needed. Equipment calibration and servicing is also scheduled to maintain the lifetime and reliability of the equipment.

Attended continuous education courses including ASM International Study of Metrology and Ziess Calypso Programming.

Member of internal Hyundai audit team to aid in OSHA policy and procedure conformity.
