Profile

I had developed and have directly overseen the overall operations of the Clinical Molecular Laboratory. I supervise technical and non-technical staff. I was directly responsible for the start up of new Molecular testing, technology evaluation, QA/QC, budget planning, equipment purchasing, and marketing.

The main focus of the molecular laboratory is to provide timely and accurate reporting of results and patient care. The laboratory is staffed for full consultation in all areas of molecular pathology and genetic testing. Have extensive experience of more than 21 years, currently looking to join a suitable organization that rewards hard work and offers good opportunities for career development.

At Aga Khan University Hospital

Established outreach clinical Lab of AKUH in central Punjab region to cater the services for Punjab, North Punjab, KPK as well as Gilgit and remote areas. In this way, the business from North Punjab and KPK has been shifted to Lahore rather Karachi. Volume growth of Molecular services has been reached to 27%. I had developed and have directly overseen the overall operations of the Clinical Molecular Laboratory. I supervise technical and non-technical staff. I was directly responsible for the startup of new Molecular testing, technology evaluation, QA/QC, budget planning, equipment purchasing, and marketing. Lab Administration, staff training, IQC training to staff, ISO Audit, JCIA Audit, & PHC registration. Commissioning of new tests, comparative study and standardization. The main focus of the molecular laboratory is to provide timely and accurate reporting of results and patient care. The laboratory is staffed for full consultation in all areas of molecular pathology and genetic testing. Actively participate in National and international CME. Presented in more than 15 international conferences.

Senior Teaching & Research Fellow 2008-2012

At University of Health Sciences Lahore.

Four years of experience of teaching to M.Phil graduates of a medical students. I did my services at University of Health Sciences as Faculty for four years in Human Genetics and molecular biology department. I did a research project on Susceptibility of HCV RNA in our isonym group".

Involved in all key responsibilities of the department. Purchasing of equipments, consumables and chemicals.

Molecular Pathologist 1998-2008

At Chughtais Lahore Lab.

Established the section of Molecular Pathology as the first one in Lahore, in which i established HCV PCR, HBV PCR, MTB PCR, CMV, HLA tissue typing, HLA B27, BCRabl, qualitative quantitative and genotyping. Qualitative, Quantitative and Genotyping.

Training of Staff as well as marketing of these tests. Purchase of equipments and chemicals.

Research Fellow 1996-1997

At School of Biomedical Sciences University of Surrey Guilford UK

I did a research project on development of identification of MTB DNA PCR from the environment samples and trained one student for all Molecular Lab techniques. I also did DNA finger printing of MTB samples in Royal Free London hospital. I also did work in the virology and bacteriology department for PCR diagnosis.

Microbiologist 1995-1996

At Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital & Research Centre Lahore.

Responsibility of Microbiology and Molecular Biology sections for diagnosis and development of tests of routine and culture. All routine and special tests of both sections. Reporting of all tests. Ordering of all consumables and chemicals. Training of Junior staff.
