OBJECTIVE
A problem solver, curious investigator, team player and an attentive to detail graduated candidate seeking Mechanical Engineer position in the fields of energy, oil & gas, automotive, automation, design and manufacturing
EDUCATION
Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering GPA 3.67/4.00 Dec 2016
University of Houston, Houston, Texas, USA
Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering GPA 3.70/4.00 May 2015
Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, AP, India
WORK EXPERIENCE:
• Graduate Assistant, The Burdette Keeland Jr. Design & Exploration Center, University of Houston September-December2016
Assisted students with machine tools, operations, welding tools, laser cutting equipment, vacuum forming, CNC, 3D printing equipment, maintained tool inventory, educated students with safety measures to be taken while working and secured the work surroundings.
• Graduate Research Assistant, Super Conductivity Lab, University of Houston March-August2016
Assisted with the research work in HT superconductors, it included processing, optimizing of epitaxial growth of thin film 2G HTS by chemical vapor deposition. It also included post deposition operations like sputtering, annealing, and critical current calculations.
• Intern, Hindhuja Foundries Pvt Ltd, Hyderabad, AP, India April – August2014
Obtained the knowledge of the product cycle of clutch housing manufactured using sand casting process, keenly observed and made a report on step by step procedure of manufacturing process. The report is so informative that they still show it other new interns to explain what they do in the manufacturing process.
• Intern, Kirloskar Ferrous Industries Ltd, Karnataka, India June- August-2013
Procured the knowledge of sintering process which is used to melt the iron ore which was not a fit to melt at first, also followed the operating procedures of shop floor and also picked up the practical knowledge of pig iron manufacturing, gave a presentation in the company and the college and was lauded for the attentiveness to detail in conveying what was learned in the work.
• Externship, Schlumberger, Houston, USA Jan10-Jan12th 2017
Visited all the campuses in and around Houston and learned what schlumberger does. EMS facilities really gave a clearer picture. An engineer accompanied to the oil rig explained the terminology and functions of the components.
ACADEMIC PROJECTS
• Flow Analysis in Helical pipes using ANSYS(FLUENT) May 2016
Validated the results of a research paper “pressure drop flow correlations in a regular helical pipe”, simulated the helical pipes and ran the simulations, used mesh study and got very less error though the mesh was coarse.
• Flow Assurance in a Subsea Pipe line network using PIPESIM May 2016
Collaborated with industry professionals and worked on oil well network in which an oil wells, pipeline diameters & placement, choke diameters, FPSO etc. were strategically placed. Obtained a solution in a creative way which paved to get best results and grades
• Designing and optimization of a 5T solenoid magnet using COMSOL Software May 2016
Using parametric relations a 3D model of super conductor tape wounded solenoid was developed and simulated it to operate under 770K which was later studied structurally, thermally so that it could sustain certain forces and satisfy requirements.
• FEED of an infield subsea pipe line, using Abaqus, Excel and Mathcad August 2015
Designed an infield subsea pipeline of length 6000kms by using the project data, environmental data our team developed a perfect pipeline which can sustain all the adverse conditions given in the project data and used API, DNV standards to design the pipe and then simulated to check the numerical calculated model was satisfying the safety line or not.
• Fabrication of Magneto Hydro Dynamic power generator, DRKIST, Hyderabad, India May 2015
It was a team project, A 3D CAD tool to develop a MHD generator which uses gas as a conductor for electricity production and then fabricated a prototype and were able generate electricity successfully. Our team was awarded with best major project for the creativity of concept and a perfect presentation. Being the leader of the team responsibilities were taken to stand out from other projects, distributed and monitored the work of the team members periodically.
