PROJECTS

• Analysis Tools and Defense Mechanisms for DoS Hash attacks. (Master’s Thesis) This research focuses on creating tools for gathering and management of data for analyzing Denial of Service attacks on the advertisement-based synchronization mechanism used in the DirectDemocracyP2P application. We present two tools that were developed as part of this effort: AttackerClient and Decoding and Distribution. These tools are used to perform the attack and analyze the captured network packets of the attack data, storing them in a database. The Decoding and Distribution tool can distinguish between different types of messages. It can also assemble fragmented messages from UDP chunks. The created tools help to manage a database of captured messages. A sample database is built with captured real and simulated data. A solution to the Denial of Service attack is implemented and tested.

• Benchmarking – Performance Analysis of Operating Systems. (Independent Study in CIS) In this paper, a comparative study was conducted on Windows and Linux operating systems running on identical hardware architectures to measure their performance under the same application benchmarks. A series of I/O intensive and CPU intensive benchmark tests were run simultaneously on the systems from which some performance metrics were obtained and evaluated. From the analysis of the data results collected, significant differences in runtime throughput of the benchmarks, run concurrently were seen after a sufficient sampling of runs were done on little, medium and large (53.2 GB) size data files.

• Event Notification System (Network Programming)

Multiple clients register with a server having a SQLite database which contains events (Event Definition, Time, Event Description and Group) for each client and returns a list of events when asked for by the client and deletes the event from the database once it expires. ASN.1 Encoding- Decoding is implemented.

• PKI Implementation (Secure Data and Communications Network) In this project we created a banking application where a customer can deposit, withdraw and balance inquiry for his account. This is done using public and private keys established by the Certificate Authority and exchanged between the client and the bank server. The data exchanged about the client’s account is Encrypted using RSA.

• Weather Application (Advanced Programming- JAVA) Implementation of a SOAP web service to notify the user about their interests in the cities they registered for and the data was captured into a database.

• Digital Signature Standard (Cryptology)

Implementation of Digital Signature Algorithm using the Digital Signature specification document, using only the libraries of Big Integer and hash function provided by the JAVA API. ACHIEVEMENTS

Awarded Outstanding Graduate Student of the year, Computer Science Engineering, Florida Institute of Technology for the academic year 2014-15, 2015-16.

Region 1-7 Coordinator, YPP, IEEE- Industry Applications Society, 2015-16. Chapters Electronic Communication Committee Chair, IEEE- Industry Applications Society, 2014.
