The USNS Washington Chambers was the first vessel that I sailed on with Military Sealift Command. While onboard I was in charge of the fuel and air systems. Common tasks included performing fuel transfers, maintaining pumps, valves, purifiers, and air compressors. I was also the only engineer on watch and was in charge of keeping plant status satisfactory.
