Research Assistant, Department of Chemistry, NIU, September 2016 – December 2016
Used engineering expertise to assist with project, Coating on Molecular fans to reduce radiation from mobile phones
Designed the testing apparatus for testing the radiation using a thermal insulation and Constant pressure setting on the molecular fan
Tested the radiation for molecular fans with constant pressure with different controls and check the radiation on different molecular fans which improved the cooling rate by 7-10 % Thesis: Surface tribology of laser processed materials, Depart. of Mechanical Engineering, NIU, January 2016 – Present
Use the Moire Interferometry technique and double reflection to calculate the surface parameters of laser operated materials. The expected result is an effect of different parameters in laser operations on the surface parameters and the wear rate of different materials tested
The test specimens are the materials obtained from the laser shining on the power and making the material.
WORK EXPERIENCE & ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Reliability Analysis of Traffic Light Ticketing, College of Engineering, 2016-2016
Performed the Reliability Analysis of Traffic Light system. The expected outcome was a higher reliability of traffic light cameras ticketing system up to 99%
Used a heater and alternative cameras in parallel connections to improve the life and the reliability of the entire system. Made certain changes in the camera selection depending on the temperature.
Improved RBD and new structure of ticketing system and achieved a reliability of 97% SRI SAI KARTHEEK MEKA, Resume, page 2
Tribological Analysis of Wind Turbines, College of Engineering, 2016-2016
Performed Tribological Analysis of the brakes and look at the tribological aspects to increase the life of the parts.
Found the tribological factors that affect the life of the wind turbine in motion.
Causes of wear and Brinelling on bearings were identified and Possible solutions like lubrication were proposed.
Analysis of the Universal Joint with the Propeller Shaft, College of Engineering, 2016-2016
Modelling and analysis of universal joint with different torque and power. The expected outcome was to identify the different areas of load during transmission.
Modelled the universal joint with standard dimensions and identified the large stresses Maintenance Intern, India Piston Pins and Liners Pvt. Ltd, Chennai, India, May 2014 – June 2014
Analyzed the production schedules of all the machinery in the company and the output of the machine
Revised the existing schedules to an efficient one and proposed maintenance of machines which were affecting the output due to rejections
Created a cost estimate plan for the maintenance from the vendors and gave an estimate of the savings v/s the cost of maintenance
