This correspondence is in regards to my interest in applying for the Epic Security Coordinator position. I am very interested in expressing and expanding my skill set on new and exciting opportunities.
I have a background in learning multiple programs, becoming proficient in them and then training staff members to use them in my previous career as a Land Survey AutoCad Technician. I switched gears when the housing market crashed in 2007 and worked in healthcare for a few years as a Critical Care Tech in the Emergency Department. I have my B.A. in Psychology, and have also worked as a Mental Health Worker in Adult, Adolescent, ICU and Emergency Psych Dept. During this time, I also floated to Medical and Surgical Recovery Units when I was needed because of my clinical experience.
Those 4 years of working in so many different clinical facets of healthcare have helped me incredibly in my current role as an Epic Security Coordinator. I started in Centura’s IT department as a Physician trainer for Meditech, then as an MIS Meditech analyst, and then finally I became certified as an Epic Security Coordinator in April 2014. I also have a certification in Epic Inpatient Clinical Documentation. Working under the direction of senior members, I have helped to organize this companies Security build strategy and SER build strategy. I have also helped to build a homegrown automation tool (called Overseer) that builds EMP and SER records with very little to no manual intervention.
During these last 3 years, I have helped 10 hospitals, dozens of urgent cares, and hundreds of clinics go live with Epic. We have also started implementing community connect and have 2 sites we have completed build for. I have sharpened the skills necessary to work in a task oriented and deadline driven environment. I feel very comfortable in this role. It suits me, as I love to be challenged. I am willing to move for the right company.
