Following are the job responsibilities

Supervise the medicines supply chain and ensure pharmacy premises and systems are fit for purpose.

Ensuring that the supply of medicines is according to the law & the medicines prescribed to patients are suitable.

Advising patients about medicines, including how to take them, what reactions may occur and answering patient’s questions.

Advising other healthcare professionals about safe and effective medicines use and safe & secure supply of medicines.

Respond to patients' symptoms and advise on medicines for sale in pharmacies

Provide services to patients, such as smoking cessation, blood pressure measurement and cholesterol management.

Supervise the production and preparation of medicines and assessments of quality of medicines before they are supplied to patients from pharmaceutical manufacturers.

To check the quality of medicines supplied to patients. ACHIEVEMENTS

My degree:

My degree is entitled as Doctor of Pharmacy, and I have completed 5 years of pharmacy education. The subjects covered in these 5 years are mentioned in my transcript. My degree program included extensive training in subjects such as pharmacology, clinical pharmacy, pharmaceutics, medicinal chemistry and biopharmaceutics.

Health care activities:

During my 5 year education I actively participated in health care activities, attended workshops and seminars regarding patient care and the responsibilities of health care professionals, role of clinical pharmacist in patient care, importance of care plans and their effective implementation, rational use of antibiotics.

Clinical Training:

In order to improve our clinical skills, my university organized our weekly visits to the hospital named as The Children Hospital. During these clinical rounds we performed the following activities:

Checked the prescriptions for Drug interactions

Checked the dosage of the antibiotics being given according to standard protocols.

Interacted with the doctors about the treatment being given to the patients

Devised pharmaceutical care plans for the patients considering his current therapy, disease, age and dosage requirements.

Internship:

Later I did internship at children hospital in gastro ward for one month. Here I observed the treatment strategies regarding different diseases. We helped doctors to optimize the doses for different patients. We counselled the patients about their diseases, about medicines, about dietary restrictions, e.g. I helped Wilsons’s disease patients not to take organ meat like liver and chocolates nuts etc. This was a great experience to work under the supervision of the gastro department Head. Health Volunteer:

In 2011 there was an outbreak of dengue virus in Pakistan, which affected Most of the population. So we started and awareness complains about dengue.

Completed a project under the title “Peptic Ulcer, Its causes and treatment plan” In this project we studies the causes of peptic ulcers in different patients. Among these the Most of the patients were taking NSAIDS either prophylactically or as treatment plan of cardiovascular risk, so Omeprazole and ranitidine was added to protect them against duodenal and gastric ulcers which could be the effect of long term NSAID therapy.

Completed a project on formulation development under the title ‘Soda mint tablet” In this project we formulated the soda mint tablets in our pharmaceutics lab with the name Carbi-mint. This project provided us better understanding of how a crude raw material can be transformed into a finished dosage form. We learnt about the SOPs involved in the formulation of a liquid dosage form. Performed all the basic preformulation tests for the raw material including solubility, stability against light, heat and moisture, melting point, specific gravity and found the excipients compatible with raw material. After completing post formulation tests we designed its carton and prepared a broacher for its marketing.
