JOB SUMMARY:

Collaborate with Infection Control Officer in planning organization, coordination, education, and evaluation of SGH-Riyadh Infection Control Program. Promote and monitor implementation of infection control guidelines appropriate to all hospital departments.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Promote improvement of patient care through an ongoing infection control programs.

Conduct regular surveillance of prospective infectious diseases admitted in the facility; tabulates and interprets collected data; conducts anti-biogram studies and submits reports to the Infection Control Officer.

Liaise with proper authority in issues affecting hospital personnel and notifies designated Infection Control Officer of reported cases of communicable diseases.

Disseminate information related to infection control measures recommended by the Infection Control Committee.

Collaborate with other departments in the hospital to develop and update infection control policies under supervision of Infection Control Officer.

Monitor and evaluate cases necessitating isolation to provide optimum care to patients and the staff.

Inspect hospital environments and observe personnel activities to identify possible infection hazards.

Coordinates with nursing personnel to allocate proper accommodation and appropriate handling of different types of isolation during treatment and procedures.

OPD/ER

Initiate Intravenous therapy when needed and when prolonged hospital care is necessary.

Administers nursing activities and Prepares accurate record.

Assists in establishing clinical procedures and coordinates activities with other departments.

Observes aseptic techniques in preparing instruments and during the treatment and examination of patients.

Refer patient to other departments when prolonged and specialized treatment are required.

WARD NURSE

Under supervision, responsible for delivering nursing care to the patients within the assigned area:

Gives direct nursing care

Identifies nursing needs of patients. Observes the patient and renders nursing care related to his/her needs

Plans, gives and evaluates nursing care
