Description of Work

Navigate routes and plan for voyages, prepare all charts and publication required and check navigational equipment for accuracy and performance.

Maintain the navigational charts and nautical and reference publications, bridge check lists, maintain Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS), and take corrective actions, as required.

Supervise the loading and unloading operations, and provide directions to the seafarers maintain accuracy of ship and its equipment at optimum efficiency at all times.

Check and maintain the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) equipment and other safety systems including the ships’ lifesaving systems, breathing apparatus, emergency escape breathing devices, standing orders, and provisions, keep accurate levels of lifeboat inventory, and maintain logs.

Perform mooring and anchoring operations.
