Summer Engineering Intern, Martin Engineering, Neponset, IL Summer 2016

Tested and evaluated 4-6 chemical products to determine the impact on dust suppression in a power plant using coal/limestone/copper metals and minerals. Tests resulted in a 10% reduction in weekly water usage.

Compiled and analyzed data to evaluate best products for the company, and utilized SolidWorks to develop Technical drafts to showcase a portable machine to measure dust containment in a manufacturing setting.

Developed technical, teamwork, and communication skills. Took initiative in assuming staff support to lighten department workload.

Development Engineering Intern, Jancy Engineering, Davenport, IA Summer 2015

Developed a measurement device to evaluate the tolerances and geometric angles of drill bits to be used in the quality control process.

Troubleshoot electromagnets using a volt meter and caliper to assess possible failure issues with parts from a new supplier. Determined magnets were performing correctly but there was a problem with the installation. Verbally reported findings to head of engineering for follow-up.

SPECIAL PROJECTS

Senior Project: Designing Plumbing and Fire Protection Systems Spring 2016

Participated in a team project to design an active plumbing and fire protection system for RTM an engineering consulting company. Researched local plumbing codes and environmental regulations to implement proper safety and efficiency. Prepared reports and a PowerPoint presentation of progress and accomplishments presented to board and Engineering Department Chair.

Affordable Prosthetic Prototype Spring 2015

Coordinated with Sweet Briar Virginia College engineering students to developed a prosthetic limb for a under privileged individual in Brazil, utilized Pro-E to design components and researched materials that would be acceible to client to reproduce at a later point in time. Prepared reports, PowerPoint presentations, and a manual which was presented to engineering department chair.
