Ms. Bhandari has experience in both civil and environmental engineering projects including environmental site assessments, green infrastructure, industrial hygiene, and stormwater management and design in Tampa, Florida; Las Vegas, Nevada; Chicago, Illinois; and the New York City metropolitan area.

As a Project Engineer, Ms. Bhandari has overseen the excavation, and collected 5-point composite soil samples of drummed soil. Other duties included preparation of daily summary reports and preparing samples for laboratory analysis.

As a Field Engineer and Associate Project Manager, Ms. Bhandari’s responsibilities included installation and sampling of Passive Diffusion Bags in monitoring wells; taking synoptic water level measurements; soil and groundwater sampling; soil gas sampling; surface water sampling; and overseeing monitoring well installations. Her duties also included the planning, coordination, and implementation of field sampling activities; evaluating and preparing samples; and addressing administrative issues and inquiries from field and office staff. Ms. Bhandari has compiled data tables for the sampling activities and trained staff for equipment calibration, groundwater sampling, and data management.

Ms. Bhandari has performed a Phase I Site Investigation for the commercial unit that included septic tank systems. Ms. Bhandari also performed the interviews with previous property owners.

PS 160 K Annex Indoor Air Quality Survey, NYCSCA (Project Engineer: 2013)

Ms. Bhandari has worked on several Indoor Air Quality reports for New York City School Construction Authority projects. Reports were prepared in accordance with New York State Department of Health, Final Guidance for Evaluating the Soil Vapor Intrusion, 2006.

New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, Queens, NY (Volunteer Engineer: 2011)

Ms. Bhandari prepared remedial summary site plans and internal memos summarizing soil, groundwater and soil vapor results, groundwater flow directions, sensitive receptors and potential sources of environmental contaminants. Her duties included investigation of numerous hazardous waste and petroleum contaminated sites, comparison of soil and groundwater analytical results to Standards, Criteria and Guidance of 6 NYCRR Part 375 and TOGS 1.1.1. Additionally, she researched NYSDEC Spills, NYSDEC Petroleum Bulk Storage, USEPA Envirofacts and Sanborn Map databases and interpreted the results for various remedial program sites.

Chicago Center for Green Technologies, Chicago, IL (Volunteer: 2011)

Ms. Bhandari led and organized educational tours for public and academic groups pertaining to the center’s green infrastructure, solar energy, LEED certifications, and sustainability practices. As a Docent, she was also responsible for delivering information for brownfield redevelopment, rainwater harvesting, sustainable backyards, green building design, solar berms and geothermal source heat pumps.

Pahramp Phase I, Las Vegas, NV (Project Engineer: 2009)

Ms. Bhandari was responsible for coordinating Phase I Environmental Site Assessments of several properties associated with a commercial redevelopment, implementation of subsurface investigations to assess potential impacts from past on-site operations to soil and groundwater, performance of risk evaluations, and negotiations of cleanup levels with regulatory agencies.

Borrego Springs Landfill, San Diego, CA (Project Engineer: 2009)

As a Staff Engineer, Ms. Bhandari worked on a landfill well design and prepared permit applications for the installation of groundwater and vadose monitoring wells.

Kingman Mercury Assessment, Kingman, Arizona (Project Engineer: 2009)

Ms. Bhandari was the Technical Lead for a mercury assessment for a residential development. She developed a work plan for residential mercury vapor clearance surveys and remediation in accordance with USEPA Risk Assessment and Arizona Department of Environmental Quality guidelines.

New York Casino, Las Vegas, FL (Field Engineer: 2009)

Ms. Bhandari completed assessments for mold, asbestos and lead paint including collection of air and swab samples and X-Ray Florescence Spectrometer readings. Other duties included report preparation and interaction with clients, contractors and government agencies.

Circus Casino HAZMAT Inventory, Las Vegas, NV (Field Engineer: 2009)

Ms. Bhandari conducted an assessment of on-site hazardous materials and prepared the Hazard Communication program for the Casino. Ms. Bhandari conducted site visits to determine the types of hazardous materials used, and methods of handling and disposal. Finally, Ms. Bhandari was responsible for preparing the final report containing suggestions for improving hazardous waste and materials management practices; a policy document for the hazardous materials; and a training program for personnel involved in hazardous waste management.

Intermountain West/Pacific Marketing Study, Las Vegas, NV (Lead Engineer: 2009)

As a Lead Engineer, Ms. Bhandari conducted research for all active, closed, historic and abandoned landfills for six states. Ms. Bhandari prepared reports detailing landfill characteristics critical to installation of landfill gas monitoring systems using GIS software.

New College Florida, Sarasota, FL (Project Engineer: 2006)

Ms. Bhandari managed the construction submittal review process, working with structural, mechanical, civil, and electrical engineers to complete the timely reviews of submittals. Ms. Bhandari also prepared drainage calculations for the proposed expansion of what.

Lake Lisa Pasco County, Tampa, FL (Project Engineer: 2007)

Ms. Bhandari served as Project Engineer for a stormwater management design for pond expansion with storm events and rainfall flow rates.
