Independent Consultant (August 2013-Present)

Independent Activities related to steel industry in Venezuela, on new steel projects like Seamless Pipe rolling mill and Special Steel Plant.

On Steel Seamless Pipes Mill, the job was to develop an Technical Proposal for Revision and Modifications on Basic and detailed engineering for the erection of the rolling mill and the finishing mill, including utilities, reception and delivering of material and process flow.

Related with the Special Steel plant, the activities are related to translation of more than 143000 term form automation and control of the level 1, 2 and 3 of the whole plant. Second activity is related of technical explanation of equipment, spares, tool and parts in order to reach a taxes and duties exception on the incoming material for erection. Third activity is related with process development, operatives’ manuals, training and reviewing of detailed and building engineering in Steel making, casting and flat hot rolling mills.

Department Manager; Republic Steel/Grupo Simec (August 2012-August 2013)

In charge of Consulting and training for Electric Arc Furnace and continuous casting operations along the plants of Grupo Simec and ICH facilities in Mexico and USA. Training people in operations of new equipment, serve as an operative advisor in all the plants from ICH group worldwide. Working as a Melt Shop Manager in Republic Steel Canton Facility, responsible for the star up of EAF furnace revamping.

Project Engineer, Steelmaking and Continuous Casting; Siderúrgica Nacional C.A. (October 2007- July 2012).

In charge of the develop for conceptual, basic and detail engineering of the electric arc furnace (AC 200t), ladle furnace, vacuum degassing (VD system) and continuous casting machine for slabs (one strand), in the project of a 1,55 millions tons new steel plant in Venezuela. Participation in the design, selection and technical discussion of the services plants (air separation system, compressed air system, water treatment plant, lime plant)

Production Engineer Continuous Casting in billets shop and ingot casting Steel TERNIUM SIDOR (September 2003-July 2006).

In charge of the operational area of the billets continuous casting machine and ingot casting for seamless pipes, Responsible for the all operational parameters, safety system, preparation of the area economical budget, responsible for 48 peoples in direct charge. In the ingot casting area I was working as the division chief and rise the production from 2000 tons per month to 6500 tons per month.

Production Engineer Electrical arc furnace and Ladle furnace slab shop and billet shop TERNIUM SIDOR (May 2002-September 2003).

In charge of the operational area of the 200 t electric arc furnace and ladle furnace for slabs, after this relocated in the billet shop and take the same responsibilities for the 150 t electric arc furnace and ladle furnace, Responsible for the all operational parameters, safety system, preparation of the area economical budget, I was involved in the commissioning and star up of the revamping in the electric arc furnace and a new ladle furnace.

Technical assistant hot rolling mill, SIDOR. (July 2001 – May 2002).

In this area I had the work to develop new steels products for hot rolling mill of coils and strip for automobile industry, oil and gas industry and structural and commercials qualities of steels, also the client assistant for the use of the products.
