Senior Project Manager – FTTH Brownfield Development

Hired to successfully Deliver 43 Sub-Division construction Brown Field Projects, from Design, through Permitting, Execution and Acceptance.

Target achievement of up to 23.000 FTTH Homes passed.

Responsibilities:

Create the initial Project Budget for Capital Requests

Assure the Correct Interface with the different Company Business units to identify and document the project demands and the approval of the stakeholders.

Create and Periodical Update all Project Charts, Document Plans as well as other Reports.

Manage Material requests and assured the approval of the Project related Documents by the Board of Directors.

Perform follow up of the Project Budgets identifying deviations.

Setup meetings with the different vendors and followed up of the Projects Progress.

Successfully reduced the amount of Back Order Projects from 5 YO to a maximum of 8 months Old.

Luanda – Republic of Angola 2010 - 2013

Fiber Optics Project Manager UNITEL, S.A. Hired mainly to manage the construction of 2 Backbone Fibre Optics (FO) projects totalling 730km, assigned to Huawei and ZTE Vendors. Successfully Managed the construction of one Main FO Underground Backbone of 400km between two major cities (Menongue and Ondjiva) in the south of the country, assigned to Alcatel Lucent and also managed 9 smaller Metro Ring construction expansions awarded to different smaller vendors.

Achieved the completion of projects before expected date by actively controlling the execution of the vendors. This made possible to deliver services to customers before expected date.

Chosen to create reporting templates for others PM’s in the department due to the reporting skills demonstrated.

Made periodic evaluation of external and internal Supervisors and Vendors

Successfully contacting Local Municipalities for Licencing Clearance Documentation to speed-up processes.

Luanda – Republic of Angola 2009 – 2010

Fixed Network Project Manager

NOKIA SIEMENS NETWORKS Angola

Hired to manage the installation, integration and Customer Acceptance of the SDH/PDH/DWDM Equipment and ADSL Nodes in the Metro FO Network from Angola Telecom (AT) In Luanda city. Initially the customer had only 35% of the total project in service after 32 months from project start and later after 13 months, I was able to increase by additional 50% the project completion. Only 15% of the project could not be delivered due to permitting issues that were Customer responsibility. The remainder 85% of the whole project was ready for service.

Leader of a team of 15 Engineers that installed commissioned and tested the network equipment nodes.

Achieved 100% Customer Acceptance for previous jobs done and this way allowing all the Work In Progress was invoiced.

Won the merit of getting the African Cup Of Nations in 2010 inauguration Television Transmission over the Fibre Optic Metro Rings around the capital city of Luanda on time.

Successfully delivered the installation, commission and acceptance of 82 ADSL Nodes connected to the Fibre Optics Metro Rings and Ready for Service.

Achieved the full integration of new services connected to the Fixed Core Network of AT by getting the commitment and cooperation of other of AT Internal Departments.

Other Job Assignments/achievements:

Brazzaville – Republic of Congo 2007 – 2008 - Operations Manager - MTN Congo - Hired to be the CTO advisor and managed the Deployment Operations Department. Core MSC expansions were completed with little to no impact in the network. New services for the core system like Mobile Money, Mobile Internet systems were added to the system with a lot of success that allowed the growth of the customer base more than 350%. Existing infrastructure was improved and tuned out and these actions contributed to the increase of the cellular Customer Base that went from 250 K up to 1,2 Million in 12 months. Improvement of the Cellular Network Quality KPI’s was one of my best achievements, reaching the top 3 in Africa.

Libreville – Gabon – 2007 - Rollout Manager – Leadcom IS – Successfully delivered (construction/RBS/MW – Installation, commission and testing/acceptance) 30 new Cellular sites to the Telecom Operator TelCel/Airtel. Successfully reduced the Financial Work In Progress from old projects from 1 MUSD and it was reduced to 150 KUSD in 5 months, by getting all Punch List corrections done and written customer acceptance.

Ouagadougou – Burkina Faso – 2006 – Implementation Manager – Ericsson Nigeria – Successfully improved customer satisfaction that had been deteriorated in the previous 6 months. Successfully swapped of the Core from MSC, MGW and BSC and Power Station done with little impact as 3 month installation and preparation was carefully done. Delivery and preparation for swapping of all RBS Equipment was done flawlessly by working closely with vendors.

Buenos Aires – Argentina – 2005 – Senior Project Manager – Flextronics Argentina – Successfully Upgraded MSC expansions in both nodes from the Cellular network. Successfully Improved wireless customer satisfaction (Nokia and CTI). Increase the Orders Booking more than 300% since my arrival. Successfully lowered the Financial Work In Progress that reached 2 MUSD to 250KUSD in just 6 months of work.

Rabat – Morocco – 2003 – 2004 – Senior Project Manager – Ericsson Morocco – Successfully improved customer satisfaction (Maroc Telecom). Responsible for the increasing of the Orders Booking more than 250% and the increased number of weekly Expansion/Upgrade rollout jobs to more than 200%. Successfully implementing new procedures and re-organization of tasks to improve the target deliveries. Collaborated and resolved the outstanding Financial Work In Progress from ancient legacy projects reaching 2 MUSD, by working closely with the Key Account Management.

Lisbon – Portugal – 1990 – 2002 – Senior Project Manager – Ericsson Portugal – Successfully part of the Key Account Management Team that succeeded to achieve 112 MEUR Financial result and 150 MEUR in orders booking after 3 years from Account Management started working with the Portugal Telecom Wireless Network.
