Duties included but not limited to:
Examining safe driving ability and skills of applicants for Commercial Driver License (CDL)
Both in written and driving tests. Instructing applicants and drivers in safe and defensive driving
Helping and training new examiners with policy and procedures in accordance with state and federal guidelines on commercial driving and licensing.
Verifying eligibility of applicants on "CDLIS" national computer networks with all 50 states
Maintaining driver information, tests results, and data on dept. computer system
Working with national law enforcement, judiciary and courts to maintain driver eligibility upon renewing their CDL license
Verifying physical fitness of applicants with doctor and medical statements. Assisting law enforcement agencies: city, county, state and federal
On identification of Utah drivers and out of state applicants with citations, suspensions, revocations and driving problems.
