SITE ENGINEER

Civil, Building Structure, Steel Structure and Architectural Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist the Construction Manager in overseeing the construction activities and progress, planning, implementation and monitoring work schedules in accordance with the master schedule and detailed work program.

Liaise with the Consultants for technical issues and coordinate the site activities with the site supervisor and Subcontractor.

Comply with company safety procedures and requirements.

Ensure progress according to schedule.

Ensures that the works are being carried out as per construction drawings and specifications.

Ensure quality control in accordance to work method statements and risk assessment, quality plans and inspection and test plans, all prepared by the project management team and by subcontractors.

Submit AFI (application for inspection) to QA/QC with attached construction drawings and related documents needed like RFI (request for information) and FIN (field instruction notice).

Assist the QA/QC, RE/RTO and clients during inspection, audits, and handover. Ensure all findings with recommendation shall implement/rectify. The inspection shall be carried out according to inspection and test plan (ITP), and not in connivance with the inspector.

Solve technical issues with employer’s representatives, suppliers, subcontractors and statutory authorities.

Prepare request for information (RFI); 1.) If there are missing or unclear details for inquiry 2.) Approved details on site or during coordination meeting to regularize and 3.) Sketch/shop drawings for confirmation/approval.

Coordinate with the subcontractor regarding the layout, design, and delivery of formworks materials and liaise to the site supervisor-in-charge.

Coordinate with the subcontractor regarding the bar bending schedule (BBS) order, deliveries and liaise to the site supervisor-in-charge.

Coordinate with the subcontractor regarding the steel structure design, fabrication, delivery, installation and liaise to supervisor-in-charge.

Coordinate with the finishing subcontractor regarding the schedule, delivery of materials, mobilization and liaise to supervisor-in-charge.

Attend and participate in the daily general coordination meeting and site coordination meeting.

Conduct daily toolbox meeting and pre-task talk before start work at the job site.

Daily management of the site by supervising and monitoring the manpower, equipment, and the work of the subcontractors.

Provide guidance to site supervisors to their assigned works.

Prepare daily/weekly permit to work (PTW) and ensure permit are check and sign before starting the work.

Check actual site condition, whether the work can proceed safely.

Report/consult with the Construction Manager for further instruction/advice on the site problem or changes if any.

Coordinate with various parties at the construction site on a daily basis.
