EDUCATION
University of Cincinnati, Lindner College of Business, Cincinnati, OH December 2016 Master of Science, Business Analytics (GPA: 4.0/4.0)
• Relevant Coursework: Statistical Methods/Modeling, Probability Modeling, Data Mining, Simulation Modeling, Optimization Models/Methods, Data Visualization, Forecasting/Time Series Methods University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, OH August 2015 Master of Science, Environmental Engineering (GPA: 3.8/4.0) Beijing University of Science and Technology, Beijing, China Bachelor of Science, Environmental Engineering (TOP 6/120, GPA: 3.7/4.0) July 2007 ACADEMIC PROJECTS
P&G Stock Price Forecast using SAS and R May 2016 – December 2016
• Performed time series analysis using the historical stock price data. Conducted ARIMA modeling in SAS (PROC ARIMA) and R (arima, respectively
• Applied the best ARIMA model chosen from the time series analysis to forecast the future 25 observations in SAS and R. Then compared the results with the actual stock prices. This project provided a detailed demonstration about how to perform time series forecasting using both SAS and R. United Way 211 Call Center Data Analysis January 2016 – April 2016
• Led a team of four members to analyze the call center data, including data cleaning, data manipulation and data mining using SAS and SQL
• Cleaned the four years’ data, grouped them using SQL into different categories, and then calculated the statistics in each group; Analyzed the caller profile and created ad-hoc reports in Tableau to answer business questions, which helped this call center better understand the callers and thus potentially improve their services in the future Heart Disease Prediction Analysis February 2016 – April 2016
• Cleaned data, and then performed exploratory data analysis using SAS and R to better understand the basic information of the dataset
• split the dataset into two subsets and built logistic regression model, linear discriminant model and decision tree model for both subsets to identify opportunities in similar subsets with different characteristics and then to find the best model which can be used to predict the presence of heart disease
• Built logistic regression model and decision tree model in SAS Enterprise Miner to further validate the results CERTIFICATION
