Summary:

Technical experience extends over twenty years, fifteen of which were spent in hands-on supervisory positions tasked with designing, implementing, and maintaining new and existing technologies. Major duties included planning, designing, developing, and maintaining entire network infrastructures including all electronic devices used for data transport. Experience also includes project management, cost evaluations and budget considerations, technician personnel supervision and training, network security, and total infrastructure supervision. Thorough knowledge of all technical protocols and standards along with hands-on experience with most all Cisco networking hardware. Responsibilities also included representing the technical interest of the company to various consultants and outside organizations through a variety of vendors and consulting companies.

June 2016 – Sept 2016 Enterprise Network Manager Greenberg Traurig

Hands-on Management of Worldwide network with over 300 switches, routers, and firewalls in over 45 locations.

Responsible for the connectivity of three data centers one of which is overseas.

Manage team of 6 Network Engineers in various locations across the U.S.

Mar 2016 – June 2016 IT Manager 1 EDI Source

Responsible for entire IT department consisting of 3 personnel and 3 locations across the Cleveland area.

Control of over 300 Customer servers for EDI services. Each requiring separate security and policy management.

Started relationships with key vendors to improve serviceability to the Company and Customers.

Initialized project plans that starting the company moving forward into becoming compliant with current SOX, HIPAA and PCI standards.

Managed the upgrade project of the entire VMware environment with over 400 servers.

2014 – Oct. 2015 Director, IT Infrastructure and Operations Kichler Lighting

Responsible for the Hands-On management and supervision for all Infrastructure and Operations functionality throughout the company including data center applications and hardware, network administration/engineering, 24/7 Service Desk (ITSM/ITIL), and Client environments.

Supervision of 10 Technician’s, 6 facilities, and two datacenters worldwide.

Interacts closely with the Business Application team to ensure consistent and reliable delivery of business solutions.

Responsible for influencing, researching, and the implementation of new strategic technologies.

Manage key relationships with various vendors of hardware maintenance, software licensing, telephony management, and a variety of consultant firms.

Working with a 1.5MM budget, designed, planned, and implemented technology architecture for the entire company several times over.

Determined the most effective way to implement designed technology by creating project plans and mitigating technology related risks.

2004-2014 Manager of Network Operations/Network Engineer Kichler Lighting

Working manager of Wintel environment and Network Infrastructure team, responsible for the entire LAN/WAN infrastructure including 24/7 service desk ITSM/ITIL.

Responsible for 130+ Windows/Linux/ESX Servers, all aspects of domain Security, Wireless Domain, and Telecommunications.

Connected national and international sites using MPLS and site-2-site VPN on Cisco routers/Firewalls. This provided VoIP and Network resources to external areas along with QOS network wide.

Using IBM blade servers, configured and connected clustered environments for various critical servers such as Exchange 2003, AD Domain controllers, and other critical application servers.

Installed, configured, and managed several servers on VMWare’s ESX servers, boot-from-san setups, rapid restore procedures, and Veritas/TSM backup systems. Set up Cisco 9000 series SAN directors for total UNIX based SAN connectivity.

Managed the complete conversion from traditional PBX telecommunication system to VoIP using Cisco servers and Avaya Directors while staying under budget. Converted a 65 user Customer Service Department from Legacy software to the Cisco IPCC contact center and then to Avaya’s contact center.

Implemented a wireless domain system using Cisco’s WLSE/Controller and Secure ACS servers with 75+ Access Points across 4 different District Centers.

Stateful failover of two Cisco 535 firewalls with DMZ configurations, the Cisco 11000 series Content Service Switch’s, 3000 series VPN Concentrators for both client and SSL VPN, Unity Voice Mail system, DNS, DHCP, and several other server systems.

Provided instruction for the Cisco Networking Academy classes CNA111, CNA112, CNA113, and CNA114 to College students.

Planned, developed and implemented curriculum for all CCNA classes gearing towards College students.

Worked with several projects, which include Voice toll by-pass, Video communications, Network management, and regular updates to server applications.

Involved with the installation or conversion of Novell 4 to 5 then 6, Zen Works, Workstation conversion from a Windows 95 environment to Windows 2K and the testing of Windows XP, and the conversion to a Windows Active Directory environment.

Company Training Noncommissioned Officer Gulf War Veteran

Provided computer and network instruction to new personnel. Designed the policy that covered the continuing training and education of personnel for the company.

Responsible for the design and implementation of the company’s first computer network, which included several computers, printers, and also a direct hook-up to the backbone WAN.

Duties also included Help desk services, trouble-shooting support, and general instruction classes for various members of the Administration and staff.
