HCL America Inc., Chicago, Illinois 09/2015 – 08/2016

Worked as an HCL Mainframe programmer for our HCSC client (Health Care Service Corp). Position was to maintain their COBOL reports and update their IBM DB2 test, cycle and sometime production data base tables when required.

HCL America Inc., Houston, Texas 02/2015 – 08/2015

Position is in the HCL Change/Release Management group for our AIG client. Worked with the developer group to review, document, check all approvals, and move all modules from unit test, to UAT and later to mainframe production. Updated DB2 tables in prep and production when requested by clients. Started the Prep UAT Cycle run (340 jobs) twice a week. Trouble shooting problems when required to continue job processing. Ran requested preset up jobs to update tables in the Prep UAT Cycle. Also, run all other client’s job requests like FTPs, reports, etc.

HCL America Inc., Lakewood, California 10/2013 – 01/2015

Worked as an HCL software contractor for our AARP client. The shop used the IBM mainframe as a web server by linking to CICS which access Sapiens to update the DB2 database. Duties included analyzing client requests giving them answers and report/download information. Produced new reports, corrected problems and made enhancements when required. Duties also included maintaining the batch production environment by trouble shooting production abends and keeping the system running. Almost all the data access/updating was done to DB2 tables.

WARNER BROS., Burbank, California 11/1981 – 12/2012

Worked in the payroll group to maintain and upgrade payroll system, both in batch and online. All payroll data was stored and maintained on IBM DB2 tables. Payroll system being replaced.

Also, solely responsible for multiple million dollar pension reporting system.

Analyzed and produced detailed payroll time card download history union pension file used in Microsoft Access application, allowing clients to sort and group data to accommodate needs from detail payroll time card information.

Researched, coded, tested, and got approval from the Bank of America and the state of California for the formatting of a child support direct deposit automatic payment file.

Worked in the Rights group until this mainframe application was replaced.

Maintained motion pictures online CICS DB2 Rights system.

Analyzed and wrote new jobs to extract Excel spread sheet information allowing outside clients to add new information into Rights data base.

Transitioned Rights system to contracting firm working with mainframe replacement team.

Worked on production general ledger system until mainframe application was replaced by SAP.

Maintained and enhanced mainframe production general ledger and work authorization systems. Wrote downloads for clients, allowing data to be processed in Excel or Access. On-call at night to address problems on systems to analyze, test, and give solutions to nightly Production Control crew, who implement production changes.

Changed old batch edit programs into single subroutine program using Panvalet include member, so new online CICS edit routine could use same working storage and source code.

Developed technique to pick up data on secure server, edit Excel file, validate client is allowed to upload, send good files to mainframe application, and send automated e-mail to each client with file status.

Worked with SAP/CFI group for moving mainframe application to SAP.

Worked in the accounts payable group until this mainframe application was replaced by SAP.

Installed, maintained and enhanced new accounts payable mainframe package. Wrote and maintained in-house 1099-Misc batch/online application and a California ICR system.

Worked with in house group to replace a/p system.

Updated account payable package by combining multiple CICS screens into one and prevented two clients from updating same data at the same time.

Developed and maintained new in-house 1099-Misc application for adding/updating 1099 recipients, using OGL for printing forms and sent 1099 files to IRS and state of California.

Wrote utility jobs to reformat all the different 1099 formats from newly acquired companies.
