Recruiter:
I would like to express my interest in the IT/Finance Business Analyst position. I am excited about the opportunity because it blends the finance skills I have attained through my position as a Supervisory Analyst at Longbow Research, a sell-side equity research firm with my previous work in IT/Business Intelligence through my previous employment with Bristol West Insurance Group (now part of Farmers). In addition to my work experience, I have an MBA and am a CFA Charter holder, which make me eminently qualified to communicate with leadership staff on financial and accounting issues.
Currently, I use Excel for financial modeling. Data sources used for building financial models at Longbow included financial reports, presentations and other publicly released data; large pools of stock market data; and Government generated data (eg: CPI, US Bureau of Labor Statistics; GDP, U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis). My work in this area provides me a high degree of proficiency in accounting.
I have experience in KPI reporting through employment at Longbow; and KPI, Claims, Policy and Financial reporting during my tenure at Bristol West Insurance Group. At Bristol west reporting was through Oracle and SQL server giving me a strong aptitude for SQL.
Thank you for your time. Should you be interested, I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Jonathan Hartzler, CFA
