Background managing small team of technicians and engineers taking multi-disciplinary products from concept to full assembly for an SBIR contract from the NIH. Assisting other teams in every phase of the product-development lifecycle, from conceptualization, through modeling of mechanical design, prototyping, testing, and creating assembly instructions while documenting BOMs and test results, and writing technical progress reports.
Professional Experience
Mechanical Engineer – Micatu, 8/14 – 10/16
Managed multiple product lines from concept to full assembly for resale utilizing design criteria, design verification testing, CAD modeling, design for manufacturing techniques, and BOM management.
Managed small team of technicians and engineers during product line development with timeline creation, task management software, and conducting daily scrum meetings.
Maintained connection with sponsor from NIH writing quarterly reports to inform them of technical progress and visiting them to review prototypes.
Conducted modeling, static simulations of structural components based on use cases, tolerance analysis, design for manufacturing techniques, interference analysis, cable and fiber optic routing, and test fixtures.
Designed and reviewed other engineering designs to assure they were compatible with CNC, sheet metal, wire EDM, photo etching processes, and in house industrial 3D printer using ASME Y14.5M and Y14.100M drafting standards.
Engineer Intern – Tensor Surgical, 04/12 – 03/13
Designed and documented reusable orthopedic medical tools based on design criteria generated by orthopedic surgeon
Crafted prototypes using in house Makerbot ABS 3D printer, mill, and lathe
