Responsibilities: Responsible for troubleshooting the mill and working with the employees on improvements in the process. I was in direct charge of 26 employees on day to day tasks throughout the mill. I would ensure the reports at the end of shift were correct and reflected the downtime that occurred on shift as well as have action plans for those events. I would help reach our production goals for the month and keeps us on track for our financial spending in my department.

Accomplishments:

Started a shift from the ground up and raised our production to an average of 850,000 bdf a shift.

Made significant changes to the crew to put employees in the positions that benefited the company.

Achieved the lowest overtime cost in the complex while maintaining the production goals.

Maintained the highest quality of all 3 shifts for lumber on size.

1/09-11/12 - Lean/Lead 4th Shift

Responsibilities: Work with employees daily on production goals, maintain the glasswall and Kaizen newspaper daily.

Accomplishments:

Created a template for shadow boards in the mill so that they were all uniform.

Made kanbans for sticker stock to ensure we ordered trucks when needed.

Helped set up kanbans for cleaning procedures in the basement for weekly/daily/monthly duties.

Core member on the Environmental Management System (EMS), cataloging all the potential and current hazards with standard operating procedures for dealing with each.

Time keeper on the safety committee.

1/04-10/09 – Production Employee-Sawmill

Responsibilities: Run equipment to the highest potential without causing unnecessary downtime.

Accomplishments:

Never had a recordable injury.

Started the safety committee in the Sawmill division.

Main lockout tag out trainer.

Responsibilities: Maintain quality in our production while meeting our production goals.
