SUMMARY

An enthusiastic, team-oriented and creative engineer with extensive design and project experiences in aerospace industry.

Principal Engineer – General Electric (Woodward bought since 2013), Duarte, CA; 7/2008 – 8/2016

Maintain and solve problems on many aircraft thrust reversers, including Boeing 737, 747, 777, CH-47, F-15, SAAB 2000, CF34-8, CF34-10A, CF34-10E, Sam146, Nordam, Japanese P-1. Other aircraft primary flight controls include Boeing Chinook CH-47, Bombardier Dash 8, SAAB 2000. Expert on ASME ACME threads. Made correction on specification ASME B1.5.

Senior Project Engineer – Eaton Corp., Costa Mesa, CA; 3/2004 – 7/2008

Project engineer for the airplanes of Eclipse 500, Adam 700, Diamond, Javelin and most of X-47. Eaton designs aircraft fuel systems for aircraft manufacturers and provides the fuel components to the customers. Project engineer is responsible for developing components and qualifying them through FAA or satisfying the requirements of Air Force. Typical fuel components include miscellaneous valves, strainer, ejector pump, and centrifugal pump. Currently, Eclipse 500 is certified by FAA and is successfully released for production.

Engineering Specialist – Aerojet, Sacramento, CA; Using Unigraphics 11/2001 – 11/2002

Participated the design of the critical component directing the half-burned fuel from pre-burner to injector of the rocket engine for the next-generation of reusable space shuttle. The project was completed and done with NASA’s stringent requirements. The design team was disbanded, because NASA’s chose other design concept on the next design phase.

Senior Project Engineer - Circle Seal Controls, Corona, CA; Using SDRC 7/2000 – 6/2001

Managed, designed and supported miscellaneous valves and pressure gauges used on various aerospace fields. Successfully procured CE marking for European market. Successfully developed a new product so that it passed the vibration test.

Engineering Specialist – HR Trextron, Santa Clarita, CA; Using Unigraphics 11/1999 – 7/2000

Supported the components used on UCAV, H-1 helicopter and V-22 airplane flight control systems.

Project Engineer - Hydro-Aire Company, Burbank, CA; Using Unigraphics 10/1994 – 7/1999

Designed and supported components of hydraulic brake control systems of many main airplanes. Participated new design of optical speed transducer of brake control system. Supported various fuel pumps used on many Boeing airplanes.

Senior Design Engineer - Parker Hannifin, CSD, Irvine, CA; Using Catia 10/1986 – 10/1994

Participated the design team for the hydraulic fly-by-wire flight control system of Aircraft C-17 from the beginning of design until successfully delivering the product. The tasks included designing the components, writing the test procedures, and qualifying the components. Did analysis of the main servo valves, manifold and linkage kinematics. Designed miscellaneous valves, mechanical over-stroke mechanism, switch mechanism, and manifold test fixtures. Requested by Douglas to help calculate hydraulic flow and pressure drop of the whole hydraulic system because of demonstration of accuracy of flow analysis on the components. After C-17 was released for production, personally fixed a complicated hydraulic problem occurred in fly-by-wire mode that the main servo valve was interfered by mechanical linkage through the imbalance of hydraulic pressures between systems.

Checked and released all the detail drawings of Boeing 747-400 rudder and elevator flight controls. Supported production of Boeing 767, 747, 737, & 727 flight controls.

AFFILIATION: Registered California Professional Engineer
