Led Target's Engineering Practices team to help modernize the way Target technology teams handle measurement and performance needs for infrastructure and application development. Responsible for shared services and practices that focus on defining the patterns, frameworks, and tools for the organization. Led global team of 30 employees consisting of engineers, architects, scrum masters, and engineering managers with an annual budget of $10+ Million.

Key accomplishments include:

-Drove the adoption of DevOps and Agile values through the organization through a focus on experiential learning, strong customer collaboration, and continual feedback loops.

-Through Target's shared learning space, the Dojo, delivered coaching to the organization on monitoring and performance best practices leveraging Infracode, CI/CD, and TDD practices.

-Simplification of enterprise monitoring and log aggregation solutions. Shifted from centrally managed, vendor based, siloed solutions to automated, self service, cloud based solutions through the adoption of best of breed and open source tools. -Early adopter and advocate for DevOps and Agile movements within Target. Pivoted teams into new working model and became advocate for continued change. Partnered across Operations, Delivery, Development, and Solutions Architecture groups to identify in-flight activities, align efforts, and drive investments in Chef, GitHub, Jenkins, and Artifactory to accelerate toolchain modernization efforts.

-Infrastructure sponsor for successful deployment of Target's iOS mobile device footprint from conception to full store rollout. Led effort across Security, Network, Device hardware, and Systems Management from initial store pilot to rollout of 60,000 devices. This enabled key business functions such as Flexible Fulfillment, Mom & Baby, Gift Registry, and Store Team Member productivity.

-Established Systems Management Bangalore team, securing funding and headcount to support a "follow the sun" working model while reducing overall team cost structure.

Primary focus building turn-key pharmacy system for pharmacy franchise owners. Lead interface between business teams and technology delivery partners to ensure alignment of scope, budget, deliverables, and timelines.

-Delivered the analysis, design and testing phases for SAP and JDA systems to enable business processes for vendor management, purchase order management, forecasting and replenishment, pricing, promotions, inventory management, space planning, compliance, and financial planning.

-Led team of high performing Senior Business Analysts, providing guidance, training, development, coaching, performance management, motivation, and support while fostering an atmosphere of teamwork and cross-team cooperation.

-Creation and negotiation of multiple vendor contracts for pharmacy project delivery and ongoing support and maintenance. Delivered MSA, SOW's, and a multi-year Master Lease & Support Agreement for 3rd party pharmacy technology solutions.

-Delivered solution for pharmacy payment processing, which required careful coordination between 3 external vendors and internal healthcare, bankcard strategy, finance, accounting, security, and strategy teams.

Target Corp. - Project Management Consultant – Healthcare Development (12/09-10/11)

Led teams within a multi-year program to create a next-generation pharmacy application to support prescription filling and related tasks within the 1,600 stores of our domestic pharmacy business. Led global team of 40 employees covering engineer, developer, architect, and project manager roles with a budget of $20+ Million.

Key accomplishments include:

-Overall accountability for application performance features, scalability, environments, store hardware, security, and source code management.

-Primary interface to business partners and store operation teams for application performance requirements, goals, and issue resolution.

-Created and staffed Bangalore team to focus on performance engineering. Enabled round the clock response capabilities for performance development and pro-active store support.

-Received a 2010 Corporate Leadership Expectations award for Problem Solving

Target Corp. - Manager – Desktop and Hardware Engineering (12/07-12/09)

Led the Desktop and Hardware team responsible for all engineering aspects related to desktop, laptop, and printing systems. Scope spanned all headquarters, distribution centers, stores, and international locations. Responsible for platform footprint of 67,000 desktops, 60,000 point of sale registers, 18,000 printers. Led team of 12 engineers and project managers with a budget of $20+ Million.

Key accomplishments include:

-Owned managing partner relationships, strategic planning, project portfolio, financial management, development and leadership of team, and innovation.

-Spearheaded Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) platform investment and delivery that avoided $1.5 Million in hardware spend over 5 years while improving accessibility for offshore and 3rd party resources. Focus on gaining buy in from infrastructure partners and securing all future funding to continue platform maintenance and enhancements.

-Implemented the PC power management that saved approximately $.5 Million annually by efficiently managing PC power states during off business hours. Led team through proposal, funding and implementation in aggressive time frame.

-Created a revised lifecycle management strategy for desktop and printer hardware that delayed $10 Million in capital spending during the economic downturn in 2008. This also avoided $4.1 Million in expense over a 5 year period.

Target Corp. - Infrastructure Project Lead – Server Technology (11/06-11/07)

Project Lead within the Server Technology organization with a focus on project and financial management.

Key accomplishments include:

-Coordinated and managed the finances for eight teams with a total annual budget of $70+ Million

-Responsible for annual capital planning, funding requests, purchasing, forecasting, analysis, and contractor management.

-Led the successful rollout of first virtual server platform to Target stores. Led team through a planning effort, covering scope, resources, budget, and client coordination. Successfully rolled out 3,400 virtual servers with 100% accuracy on all planned milestones.

-Created the first recurring lifecycle management program for Windows servers. Built funding and staffing model for the effort, led team through the refresh of 400+ Windows based servers on an annual basis.

Target Corp. - Senior Systems Engineer – Server Technology (02/04-11/06)

Technical engineer role focused on Windows server based initiatives including server security patching, build process, refresh, and project requests.

Key accomplishments include:

-Technical lead for Windows Server Lifecycle Management efforts. Led team of 5 contractors to perform refresh of 450 servers, coordinating all installation, build, test, and cutover activities. Partnered closely with business teams and application owners to develop individual migration plans to avoid any service disruptions..

-Project lead for rollout of new gift registry scanners to all Target stores. Coordinated efforts of 7 different partner teams to cover the analysis, design, and implementation of centralized gift registry application servers as well as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, SMS, MIIS, and Radius environments.

-Technical lead for rebuild of two corporate lab facilities encompassing all network, workstation, and server hardware.

Target Corp. - Systems Engineer – Enterprise Support (07/02 – 02/04)

Technical engineer role for second level systems support. Supported headquarter, store, and distribution center locations for corporate standard applications and hardware. Hardware focus covered desktop, laptop, printer, network switches and routers, point of sale devices, mobile devices, and Windows servers. Provided personal executive support to "C" level executives.
