The central excise reconciliation package is dealing with three aspects i.e. Master Data maintenance, Excise Tax Collection and the Returns Filed by the company. It captures details from the Returns filed by the company on monthly basis and generates on yearly abstract showing the calculated tax liabilities and the actual tax paid by them. This system has helped the Department significantly in identifying the defaults in excise tax collection and return resulting increase in overall income.

MTPL was using stand-alone MS Access modules for data maintenance and returns filed by the company before the plan to develop the above system. They continued to use the same till the implementation of above oracle system.
