SUMMARY

More than 30 years of diversified surface mining experience in mine supervision, mine engineering, project management and consulting. I have supervised a surface gold operation from feasibility through construction to full operation. Successfully participated in due diligence studies, order-of-magnitude feasibility studies, mine design, planning and scheduling. Project Manager with responsibility for field activities of development drilling programs, equipment testing, and environmental remediation and site reclamation. As Project Manager I worked closely with operation teams to ensure modifications to the process plant and mine designs met the goals in a timely, safe manner, improving productivity and meeting the goals and needs of the plant managers and client customers. I have worked closely with local, state, and federal agencies on both permitting and community issues.

I have worked in remote locations in environments ranging from tropical rain forests to arctic conditions in Alaska.

My experience covers a variety of surface mining methods and numerous commodities including gold, copper, uranium and aggregates. I have diverse supervisory experience includes mine superintendent, operations foreman, field manager for development and construction projects, land representative and resource manager.

Superintendent Black Spur Quarry

Responsible for the supervision and direction of 17 man-2 shift mining crew, contract drilling and blasting services at a crushed rock quarry.

Manager, Resources & Geology

Member of the Geology / Resource – Technical Service Group responsible for all engineering and geologic work at aggregate properties.

As Project Manager of capital projects, I worked closely with plant personal to ensure the projects and design revisions meet their needs and delivered positive economic benefits to the property. Emphasis on cataloging existing operation’s reserves, operating characteristics – process flow, permits, land status.

Developed mine designs and production schedules, updated reserve database, and designed reclamation plans for quarry closure and bond calculations. Initially transferred to the Arizona Division of CEMEX, reassigned to the Pacific Division at the end of 2007.

Collaborated with Aggregate plant managers to resolve mining and process plant operational issues and ensure compliance with permit conditions and customer needs. Developed tracking matrix to catalog aggregate plant data base and completed market study of Southern California aggregate plants – part of long range acquisition strategy Liaised with local government agencies to ensure permit conditions are met and resolve issues. Participated as team member on development on new $400 million dollar limestone mine / cement plant complex in Northern Arizona. Initial program included development drilling, seismic studies, mine planning and environmental baseline data gathering. Member of Aggregate Division responsible for the planning, budgeting, engineering, and supervision of capital projects at the company’s nine aggregate, stone, and industrial sand properties. Permitted and supervised the demolition of process plant and reclamation of sand mine. Automated daily production reporting for company properties. Custom Employment Services specializing in temporary assignments within the mineral industry. Worked with Montgomery-Watson consultants developing closure and reclamation plans for surface copper mines and associated heap leach facilities. Senior Engineer

Responsible for short and long range planning, design, and scheduling for oxide copper project. Developed loading plan and schedule for valley fill heap leach pad. Detailed planning enabled both the accurate copper production forecasting and established design criteria for the conveyor/stacking system.

Mine Superintendent

Accountable for all mining related functions at open pit copper mine. Supervised mining, maintenance, and crusher personnel. Responsible for all technical support including geology/ore control, surveying, and blasting.

Completed construction and commissioning of crusher-screening equipment shake down enabled fine-tuning of system and established accurate production and maintenance scheduling. Constructed and implemented use of on-off heap leach pad system. Modifications resulted in increased production of copper and more accurate inventory control. Woodward-Clyde 1995

Contracted On-site Supervisor

Contract assignment as company representative and on-site supervisor for diesel fuel spill remediation project at remote native village in Northwestern Alaska. As company liaison, I dealt with village elders and Borough officials on a daily basis. Supervised the decontamination/dismantling of fuel tank farm, and subsequent removal, cleaning, and replacement of the gravel pad. Project served as field test for a cleanup technique never before attempted above the Arctic Circle. Test results provided valuable data for future remediation projects in the area.

Cambior Alaska-Valdez Creek 1992-1995

Senior Mine Engineer

Responsible for short and long range planning as well as daily production meetings with mine operation personnel.

Additional duties included environmental reporting, liaison with federal agencies and design construction of waste containment cells.

Member of project team responsible for the design and construction of diversion channel in severe weather conditions.

Directly responsible for inclusion of channel as part of final mine reclamation plan enabling cost savings in and award winning reclamation effort. Worked on backfill-contouring of pits for final reclamation. Responsible for aerial seeding of reclaimed areas. Served as liaison with federal and state agencies. Ivanhoe Gold Company 1990-1992

Mine Superintendent

Supervised contract mining and crushing, and directed technical support at surface gold operation in north central Nevada.

Redesigned mine to enable consistent delivery of ore from 2-pit operation. Design changes increased production rate, lowered costs, and ensured continued operation in all but the most severe weather conditions.

Supervised all facets of construction from ground breaking through operation of leach pad, plant facilities, and mine. Worked closely with contractors and engineering firms to deliver final product on time and within budget.

Served as liaison between company and federal agencies for this project as well as adjacent properties.

Earlier work includes project management of develop drilling, exploration, and field- testing of proto type equipment, foreman for uranium ore mining crew, and various engineering assignments. I was responsible for the design and permitting activities of multiple aggregate operations, site reclamation, and site reclamation plan submission to state agencies.
