PROVIDE SERVICES TO USAID/IRAQ AS PAYROLL SPECIALIST (Nov. 2015 – Present)

Ensure that all categories of employees are appropriately compensated through preparation and coordination of bi-weekly payroll cycles, adhering to USG/Mission procedures, deadlines and internal controls. Thoroughly review Time & Attendance records via WebTA for accuracy and advise supervisors on final certification.

Contribute to USDH payroll efficiency by preparing Special and Post Differential Memos for NFC pay and disseminate computations to employees.

Maintain and contribute to efficient payroll execution by liaising with NFC Pay, providing documentation and information in cases of discrepancies, and coordinating transfer and departure of employees.

Comply with Iraq Service Recognition Package by maintaining up-to-date employee records and monitoring allowances and benefits.

Prepare complicated, detailed, and comprehensive pay cap analysis worksheets in accordance with USG guidelines and regulations ensuring pay cap is not exceeded and deferred payments are accurately paid the following year.

Administer payroll cycle on a bi-weekly basis, promptly implemented payroll changes following transfers and departures

Prepare and maintain off-the-cuff reconciliations that webTA is unable to generate and provide to relevant managers.

Supported USAID activities in Iraq by following the accounts payable procedure, reviewing a variety of average to complex administrative invoices and vouchers, and ensuring conformance with authorizing obligating document. Ensure that payment is auditable for future reference.

Reviewed payments to international organizations and commercial organizations, and examined purchase orders to support and verify all computations on invoices for accuracy.

USAID/IRAQ 2006 – 2013

Payroll Specialist/Voucher Examiner

Maintained strict compliance with internal controls while processing payroll for US Direct Hire, USPSC, TCN and locally employed personnel, generating pay cap analysis worksheets, and verifying accuracy of Time & Attendance records.

Updated and managed employee records, tracking allowances and benefits to ensure alignment with organizational policies.

Closely evaluated invoices and vouchers to ensure accuracy and completeness of data; issued payment vouchers and supporting documentation for Involuntary Separate Maintenance Allowance (ISMA).
