(1)Library Collaborative/Online Reference Desk for Misplaced Books

Brief: Central Library of IIT Kharagpur has around 3 lakh books. If a user is unable to locate his/her required book on shelf and Opac database search is showing book status “ Copy is on shelf “ that time s/he can register his/her Online query and library staff can informed to user about status of the required boos(s) by an automatic email.

(2)Creation of Book- accompanying CD-ROM database for on-line access

Brief: Using various tools (MS –access, SQL, Php) CD-ROM databases are to be generated and methods are to be documented. So that all faculty members and students can access /download the contents of CD-ROMs accompanying with Books setting on their desktop.

(3) Paperless acquisition

Brief: To adopt different computerized system Acquisition work to minimize the paper works involved in book procurement.

(4)Use of LIBSYS in Circulation with some local variation.

Brief: Here I proposed to send an Email Overdue Alert to the Users (Faculty Members, Academic Staff, Research Scholars, and Non-Teaching Staff) of Central Library, IIT Kharagpur through E-mail against their dues just before one week from the date of issue of a particular title(s). This will help them to keep track on due date of borrowed title(s) so that they may avoid paying overdue charges.
