Job Description
PSYCHOSOCIAL THERAPY DEPARTMENT SUPERVISOR
1. Manage People Effectively
Finalize the job description of all members of the department as well asholding a regular meeting
regarding work-related concerns.Ensure proper channeling of information and coordination about task/assignment. Also, prepares the department’s Calendar of Activities & attending meeting scheduled by the Hospital Administrator.
2. Quality Patient Care Services
Ensure that structured therapeutic activities for patients are provided/implemented properly, ensuring safety and that all patient - related documents are accomplished (census, observation notes, psych history etc.)Plan, organize and co-implement outside activities (field trips) and special events (sports festival & parties)
3. Quality Student Training Service
Ensure implementation and effectivity of the Occupational Therapy& Psychology clinical training program in relation to patient care as well as the development and continuous revision of contents of the two clinical training programs. Also, ensure complete documentation of status of student rotators.
4. Quality Resource Services
Ensure that the needed supplies by the department are available always. (budget, marketing of needed materials) Reduce the total number of missing and dysfunctional tools as well as ensuring that the books are wisely used and maintained in good condition. Ensure a clutter-free environment in the different rooms used by the department.
5. Staff Training and Development
Ensure that each member of the department is able to participate in training, seminar, and workshop available.
6. Staff Performance Monitoring
Determine the effectivity and efficiency of Psychology and Occupational Therapy Clinical Supervisors’ training methodology. Also, determining the effectivity and efficiency of Rehab and Ward facilitators.
7. Directly reporting to the Hospital Administrator regarding work related concerns of the department in relation to patient care, student
training, and staff concerns when needed.
8. Perform other tasks assigned by the Hospital Administrator (attending & conducting seminar)
Rehab Activity Coordinator/Psychologist > April 2004 – July 2006
REHAB ACTIVITY COORDINATOR
1. Patient Development
Orient incoming rehab client/s regarding the rehab program as well as prepare and give him/her a selected copy of rehab program manual during or immediately after the orientation. Also, ensure that the new rehab client has complete supplies of materials at least one day after his/her transfer to HRU.Ensure that all modular activities are facilitated on the scheduledday/s including outdoor, recreational and humble fumble activities and to furnish modular evaluation from the rehab clients upon completion of each module.
Ensure just and fair sanctions and punishments for clients who violate the unit’s cardinal rules immediately after the performance of undesirable behavior.Ensure knowledge of all rehab client status to ensure physician- rehab staff patient progress inquiries are satisfactorily attended to within duty hours.
Ensure completion and submission of monthly rehab progress notes of the client under th Third Payers at least one week after the inclusive month.Ensure continues education of qualified rehab client under the Home Study Program whenever there is a possible client.
2. Communication/Coordination
Inform the rehab team about the new rehab client after his/her program orientation and deck the patient to a caseworker for psychiatric history and progress monitoring one day after orientation.Coordinate with senior house parents and rehab facilitators regarding rehab documents and checklists every two weeks.Coordinate with the rehab team regarding rehab day center client/s whenever needed.
Coordinate with rehab facilitators and patient’s caseworker regarding every physician’s inquiries. Coordinate with scheduled rehab personnel for menu and Accounting Department for budget allocation for cooking activity every second week of the month and to coordinate with house parents and ASD personnel regarding food request and the acquisition of needed supplies at least one day before the scheduled purchase.
Inform/orient patient’s relatives regarding rehab program and other related concerns whenever there is an inquiry. Coordinate with house parents regarding patient/s’ performance on ADL, household
chores, meetings and journals at least once a week and to prepare and endorse needed materials in the rehab vicinity (visual aids etc.) to house parents whenever needed.
3. Documentation
Develop program schedule for every client at least one week after his/her transferto the unit.
Ensure that the patient’s modular activity checklist contained proper entries and updated information at
least every two weeks.Ensure submission of complete patient related reports three weeks after thedecking/ facilitation. (Group Therapy, Modular Activity/Summary Report, Psych History/Case Study Report). Ensure further development of rehab program manual at least once a year.
4. Effective Governance
Prepare and conduct/preside rehab status report (rehab meeting) twice a month.
5. Infrastructure and Equipment Development
Coordinate with concerned personnel/department regarding the acquisition of rehab supplies & equipments when needed as well as inventory of the said materials and equipments every three months.

PSYCHOLOGIST/FACILITATOR
1. Facilitation
Facilitate/conduct Visioning, Communication, Values, Group Process, Film Review, Feedback & Book Review modules as well as back up activities for psych rehab patients and semi- structured activities for the extended program of some drug rehab clients within the scheduled dates of facilitation.
2. Documentation
Submit Psychiatric History/case study report and other patient-related reports of assigned patient three weeks after decking/facilitation.
3. Communication
Perform group therapy cliniquing after scheduled documentation with the facilitator.
4. Student-Related Concern
Ensure quality vocational skills activity proposal from psychology interns at least three days before the scheduled day of facilitation. Orient psychology interns about clinical training program when the Psych CS is not available. Observe and evaluate psych interns’ performance during case presentations and special topic reports. Observe patients’ activities facilitated by students in rehab and ward. Give feedbacks to students about their performances in facilitation, reporting and case presentations etc. Perform other tasks whenever the Psych CS is not available.
