Professional Experiences:

May 2015-present Laboratory Technician, Tetra Tech, Owings Mills, MD. They provide the world with consulting and engineering expertise. Conducted short-term (10 day) toxicity tests using freshwater and marine amphipods – Hyalella azteca and Leptocheirus plumulosus for EPA Office of Water, National Coastal Conditions Assessment (NCCA). Managed corresponding reference toxicant tests to ensure organism quality. Completed daily water quality such as measuring pH, dissolved oxygen, conductivity, and salinity. Performed ammonia and chlorine testing and completed titrations for hardness and alkalinity of water samples.

September-November 2014 Practicum Rotations Internship, Baltimore County Police Department, Towson, MD. To acquire more about forensics by learning first hand with forensic analysts. Observed analysts in chemistry, latent prints, and firearms units. Watched analyst work on different drug cases in the lab. Learned about different instruments such as mass spectrometry, gas chromatography, and infrared spectrophotometry.

June-August 2012 Intern at Johns Hopkins, Pediatric Operating Room, Baltimore, MD. I sanitized rooms after surgeries, while also observing spinal, brain, and gastrointestinal surgeries. In addition, I was responsible for inventory for each surgery room.

June-August 2011 Intern at John Hopkins, Bloomberg School of Public Heath, Baltimore, MD. I studied and ran DNA using PCR and standard gel electrophoresis on Caenorhabditis Elegans. I also created agar gels on a daily and streaked Escherichia coli on the agar gels.
