Responsible for workplace safety for various equipment including forging hammers, metal-cutting machines, assembly operations and maintenance.

Develop and maintain safety programs, policies and procedures.

Conduct PPE assessments for all production departments. Evaluate PPE for new options.

Coordinate the employee Safety Committee and monthly facility safety inspections.

Provide safety training for forklift operation, lock out/tag out, hot works, confined space, overhead cranes, slings and hoists inspection, fall protection, haz com and electrical safety. Ensure all training is conducted per OSHA time recommendations.

Monitor air/water discharges and waste stream. Work with IL state and Cook county for EPA, NPDES and operating permits, air permits and Tier II reporting.

Maintain bills of material, routings and establish time standards for production.
