PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Lead Communication Systems Test Engineer, Braxton Technologies LLC 2011 – June 2016
-Worked on SENSOR contract as a subcontractor to Harris Corporation as senior systems test engineer
-Integration and testing of Mission and Communication Systems on the ISC2 contract involving NORAD
-Most of the communication systems software I have tested over the last 10-15 years were coded in C, C+ and C++. The GUI software on systems I have also tested were written in Java. Although I am not a programmer in these languages, I do have experience with them. The same for Linux and Unix. I know the basic commands (ie. ipconfig, grep, ls, cd, more, emacs, cp, rm, diff, wc, chmod, gzip, lpr, lpq, etc.).
-Responsible for testing End-to-End communications between Missile Warning, Air and Space Sensors all over the world to Forward Users via Cheyenne Mountain and Offutt AFB
-Assisted in deriving requirements, comprising testing acceptance criteria, writing Test Plans and Procedures, scheduling, traveling, test execution, troubleshooting, briefings, data analysis and Test Reports
-Troubleshot Physical, Application, Session and Transport Layer issues with various test equipment and tools
-Interfaced with Link Layer Guards, cryptos, TACLANES, V-LANs, routers, switches and Juniper (CTP) networks
-Traveled to 15 remote sites many times performing technical upgrades and verification / certification testing
-Performed testing over cabled, RF and MILSTAR networks operating over various communication protocols
-Use Rational Clearcase and Clearquest to manage defect reports.
Systems Integration and Test Engineer, GTE, Dyncorp, CSC 1993 – 2011
-Integrated testbed to simulate deployment tactics for radio, switching and communication shelters
-Designed Factory Test Equipment (FTE) test sets to perform verification and sell-off testing on the MSE communication shelters, using power meters, RF attenuators, spectrum analyzers and protocol analyzers
-Moved from Boston to Colorado Springs in 1994 to support a 3-year contract involving the Cheyenne Mountain Mission and Communications upgrade for NORAD. (I still reside in Colorado Springs over 20 years later)
-Responsible for verification testing another new upgrade to the communications system to the Missile Warning, Air Defense and Space Defense Missions transforming the footprint required by over 10 times less
Hardware Design Engineer, GTE, Dyncorp 1988-1993
-Contributed to the success of Desert Storm by designing Mil-Spec cables installed in communication shelters mounted on HMMWVs in support of the MSE multi-year/multi-billion dollar contract, where over 50 cables were required for over 600 shelters each
-Performed troubleshooting on a circuit issue requiring conditioned diphase signaling and had to design a circuit board which was place in a junction box between radios and a multiplexer where over 600 were needed
Involved in field testing first item deliveries to Ft. Hood and various climatic and performance test sites
-Designed, installed and tested cables installed on two winning proposals outside current contract
Software Engineer, GTE 1984-1988
-Wrote software programs in FORTRAN and LASAR to provide the US Navy depot on the ELF project the capability to troubleshoot circuit board problems down to an Integrated Circuit (IC) pin involving typical digital chips including microprocessors and Large Scale Integration (LSI) via automated testing with GENRAD
-Transferred digital circuit drawings into LSI documents utilization CAD via MENTOR software
