Design and construction of a solar drying system for food preservation. MY Role: Material selection & purchasing, Manufacturing and testing of solar dryer. Team of 4 engineering students.

Project Description:

• We design a solar drying system to dry the agro product, that overcome the difficulties, which occurs in open sun drying.

• We use absorbing plate made up of aluminium with baffles on both side.

• We get the temperature inside the drying cabinet which was up to 60 0 C

• Payback period of solar drying system is approximately 2 month.

• We save 278.58 Rs on 1 kg of dried carrot.

• The test and content of the dried product are maintain. Achievements

• Participated in national level technical festival.

• Participated in workshop of master cam.
