Architected a Hybrid Cloud environment for the firm’s long term compliance data to be stored on AWS Glacier for long term retention.

Architected and managed the Firm’s Storage Area Network (SAN) to its current state of 55+ Petabyte of heterogeneous storage, 15K+ Fabric ports and 10+ heterogeneous SAN attached servers globally.

Successfully lead and completed the integration of JP Morgan Chase Corporate Trust, Pershing, and Mellon business into The Bank of New York SAN Storage environments.

Successfully consolidated and migrated the firm’s interim Production and DR Datacenter to the newly constructed Production and DR Datacenters (800 miles apart).

Evaluated and managed the deployment of all Flash storage arrays for the firm’s next generation Private Cloud and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments to deliver high performance, data compression, virtualization, and improved user experience due to reduced latency and increased IOPS.

Designed and developed a multi-phase approach to resolving the technology refresh challenges. Phase 1 – created a global team that was dedicated to perform data migrations from old storage technology to new. Phase 2 – evaluated and implemented storage virtualization technology, to perform non-disruptive technology refreshes in the future.

Developed and standardized on a multi-tier storage strategy for the organization that reduced the type and number of storage arrays on the datacenter floor and centralized management of the environment.

Financial – Budget Management:

Managed a Storage Cost Reduction initiative part of a larger Corporate wide cost reduction program, resulted in Net Savings/Cost Avoidance of in excess of $9.3M.

Optimized storage assets to reduce $13.7 million from capital spending in ’12.

Collaborated with storage engineering and peer operational teams in the development of storage TCO for product rate card, storage services catalogue, and revised the storage tier strategy designed to expand storage options improving ROI for clients. Developed a Storage Utility Model for pay as your grow procurement model with the firm’s storage partners/vendors.

Audit - Compliance - Business Continuity:

Lead the recovery of the storage and server environment post the 9/11 disaster.

Post 9/11 Disaster, designed and implemented 12 remote SAN environments local to the dispersed user community for File Services, Email, Anti-Virus, and Intrusion Detection systems within 1 year.

Developed and managed departmental Continuity of Business plan for critical suppliers and key firm personnel, business processes, business client’s information, and recovery of vital records.

Provided SME support to L1 and L2 operation teams with root cause analysis pertaining to outage and missed SLA’s and event management.
