PATIENT CARE PROJECTS

January 2013 Completed training through Vanderbilt Delirium 6 week workshop, developed

and implemented protocol, trained nursing staff in the care of prevention of

ICU delirium, assessment with utilization of evidence-based assessment tools

and scales.

April 2012 Completed education and training to become Level 2 Stroke Nurse, worked in a

multidisciplinary team to develop order sets, protocols, educated and trained

staff in stroke assessment utilizing evidence-based scales, and was part of Stroke

Team that earned NWTHS Primary Stroke Hospital Accreditation. MICU was

the official stroke critical care unit which was my unit and as educator

educated, performed quality assurance and improvement on a daily and patient-

by-patient basis.

Sept 2007 Developed and implemented nursing education and training regarding end of life

care for staff in acute hospital, nursing home, and volunteers. Also developed a

community outreach that involved education in palliative and hospice care, as

well as a method to educate and recruit new hospice volunteers. Founded and

developed fund raising events to aid the agency in an emergency funds for those

patients and their families in their time of need while experiencing their end of

life journey.
