Drawing on strong capabilities in product development (from “white board brainstorming” to heuristic analysis and human factors engineering) unmet product needs were collaboratively identified. The correct product is then developed to satisfy key design inputs during the discovery and concept stage through analyzing user centric studies (validation). Managing the subsequent Design Controls stage, the refined concept(s) are brought into the feasibility stage where the evaluation of form-fit-function will continue; considering mold-ability, materials and design for manufacturing and assembly (verification).

Assisted in designing a needle-stick prevention device for use on pre-filled syringes (PFS). Continued steering this concept through the feasibility stage through hand off to the business unit responsible for design controls and commercialization. Successful agreements between West and one of the world’s top 4 leading syringe manufacturers are the culmination of these efforts.

Designed ergonomic accessories for syringes to aid physicians, healthcare practitioners and patients with dexterity issues when injecting medications to make the task easier, more effective and to provide a more positive experience
