I have 23 years working in the health care field. 20 years of it was being a nursing assistant, where I was able to really show people that I cared for them in many wonderful ways. I am a very loyal and caring person who strives to do my best at everything I do. I am still in the medical field, just a different part. For three years I have been doing a variety of jobs that include but aren't limited to working at the front desk, getting the demographics on the residents, utilizing a variety of computer software programs to perform my daily duties and ordering and organizing central supplies while maintaining a positive attitude. Authorized to work in the US for any employer

WORK EXPERIENCE

Medical Records Assistant/Central Supply

Guardian Angels Care Center - Elk River, MN - September 2010 to Present September 2010 to current

I worked on the transitional care unit. I help people transition from our care unit to home after they have had surgeries, strokes, weakness or sickness. The things I did to help residents are, responding to call lights, escorting residents to meals, supervising/assisting with ADL's. Giving people confidence that they can do something if they just try. Report any changes in a resident's condition. Take vitals, weigh people and charting. Right now and for the past two years I have been working as a medical records assistant and took on all the duties of central supply. Medical records I receive and process doctor orders and put them in the computer for the nurses. I double check the pink slips and correct any errors on the spot. I fax the pharmacy with new orders. I do a lot of typing, faxing and answering of phones. For Central supply I order and maintain adequate medical supplies for all departments. I manage and supply all the units within prescribed par levels. I have strong customer service with the ability to communicate well with others and I know a lot of the medical terminology. If you need a special bandage or piece of equipment I'm the person to find it and get it ordered.

Nursing Assistant

Wellstead of Rogers - Rogers, MN - October 2007 to September 2010 I was a certified nursing assistant and I worked on the special care unit. I took care of 12-20 residents. I worked hard to positively meet the challenges and changing needs of residents with Alzheimers and Dementia. I worked the over night shift, so some residents were asleep and some were not. I did rounds every two hours, checking and changing pads as needed. Making sure all safety devices were in place and residents were doing well. In the morning I would put away laundry, pass towels and help residents with dressing, bathing, toileting and grooming.

I was also the mentor on the night shift so I trained everyone who worked the night shift. Not only did I teach everyone how things needed to be done, but they also knew that I was the go to person to help with any issues or problems.

personal care attendant

Carefree Home Services - October 1995 to December 2007 my duties consisted of going into client's homes and helping with daily living skills, dressing, bathing and grooming. I also did some light cleaning, laundry and cooking. EDUCATION
