EXPERIENCE
Drafter, MAR, Inc., Satellite Beach, FL 3/16-5/16
SolidWorks model design and stress analysis for Navy and civilian projects. Communicated with vendors and inspected quality of workmanship.
Mechanical Design Engineer, Thermal Dynamix, Inc., Westfield, MA 12/11-2/15
Designed atmosphere-generating equipment and custom high-temperature furnaces for heat-treating applications to customer specification with 2D and 3D CAD. Communicated with vendors, subcontractors, and other engineers to design for manufacturing with a focus on cost reduction, process improvement, and layout simplification. Visited customers for onsite installation support. Oversaw manufacturing of custom equipment, delivered real time feedback and clarification for blueprints, and provided instruction for assembly and equipment installation. Oversaw engineering drawing development for the department, including drawing checking and final approval.
Quality Technician, Induplate, LLC, North Providence, RI 8/10-7/11
Measured chrome plating thickness, quality, and coverage. Increased inspection efficiency by evaluating and improving inspection protocol and equipment. Performed calibration & certification of inspection equipment including calipers, micrometers, and go/no-go gauges. Trained other employees on new plating or inspection protocols. Greatly decreased certificate re-issuing by creating a new system for the issue and storage of certificates of conformance.
Assistant Engineer, Greystone of Lincoln, Lincoln, RI 6/10-8/10
Designed, assembled, and calibrated custom inspection equipment for high volume/high precision parts with quality and engineering departments. Decreased part rejection by observing the operation of rotary transfer machining and feeding information to production. Worked to increase sales in foreign markets by creating and executing a testing procedure to reduce minute chip particles.
Interning Assistant Engineer, Dexter-Russell, Inc., Southbridge, MA 5/08-8/08
Designed, manufactured and maintained replacement mechanical systems for industrial equipment. Conducted product and material testing comparisons against competitive product. Collaborated on industrial robotic workspace layout and process. Developed prototypes for improved product packaging.
