I am very interested in becoming a member of your highly trained team. My resume is attached to this cover letter for your review. Given my experience as an Operations Director at the Executive and Senior Leader levels, Masters of Business Administration in Human Resources Management and coupled with teaching and recruiting experience for the U.S. Army, my skills are an ideal match for your company’s implementation teams.
I am very comfortable with explaining new equipment, new systems and new processes. I know what organizations need to function efficiently and effectively and will help guide them in the right direction moving forward. I have been involved in procurement at senior and executive levels, in charge of budgets that exceeded $6,000,000. I served proudly for over 32 years in the United States Army, deploying five times while possessing the knowledge base required to problem-solve at various levels and in broad terms.
As a Senior Leader and Operations Director, I was directly responsible for tracking over 1,000 personnel training records to ensure they were current on all training requirements the Army required. I was also in charge of the Equal Opportunity program for the organization, ensuring all personnel knew how to properly file grievances when required. I set up and monitored the performance evaluation and rating program for my organization to ensure all personnel received coaching, mentoring and professional development.
Most recently, I oversaw the development and implementation of the new Combine Joint Operations Center in Amman Jordan (CJOC-J) for Fort Bliss and the 1st Armor Division; a new concept facilitating the new push for all services to be able to understand and implement joint operations and integrate all types of assets into the battle for the Commander. This project was one being considered for widespread implementation across all the branches of service.
In closing, I thank you for taking the time to review my credentials and experience. I hope that you will find my resume in joint doctrine, joint instructor experience, and recruiter experience intriguing enough to warrant a face-to-face interview, as I am confident that I could provide value to your company as a member of your distinguished team.
Sincerely,
Mark T. Council
