Project: webMethods upgrade Project

Upgrading webMethods environment from 8.2.2 to 9.8. A total of 650 interfaces (including hundreds of EDI interfaces) across 10 integration servers are to be migrated with proper testing using side by side approach (unit testing/end-end testing).

CAF/BPM process models as well have to be migrated to newer version.

Plan, test and document back out plan in case of any major issues post go live

Responsibilities

Design migration strategy

Present architecture/design to ARB (Architecture Review Board) and manage the project through the client defined project process.

Identify all components that needs to be migrated

Install and configure new webMethods environment

Migrate all existing components from old environment to new env following SAGs best practices

Fine tune server performance

Design/test back up plan in case of any major post go live issues

Design/test DR test strategy

Identify functional teams with whom we have to coordinate for testing interfaces

Prepare unit test cases for all interfaces, lead the team in documenting unit test results

Prepare end-end unit test cases and make sure the team strictly documents all test results as per project/client standards

Identify and document all firewalls/configuration that needs to be done on new env

Suncor webMethods has 650 interfaces running actively in production distributed across 10 integration servers.

Worked at the integration team lead and was responsible to keep the webMethods production environment stable and make sure that all integrations works as expected.

Collaborated with enterprise architect team and discuss/propose improvements for enterprise integration as well as helping in formulating future integration road maps

Gathering requirements from internal/external business clients and SAP functional teams and converting them to webMethods technical designs

Leading webMethods development team in implementing designed end-end solutions in webMethods and driving it through different phases of SDLC.

Patch management for webMethods landscape (OS/app/DB level)

Project : webMethods upgrade Project Jan-2012 to Dec 2012

Till 2012, Suncor was using webMethods 6.5 and 7.1 versions in parallel. Also, webMethods servers were installed on windows servers and SQL DB was in use.

We upgraded to 8.2 and moved away from windows to Unix and DB to Oracle. The project is to migrate nearly 450 interfaces connecting hundreds of internal/external applications.

Co architect new webMethods landscape keeping in view of future requirements and ‘lessons learnt’ from sustainment.

Doing installations of new versions and standing up IS/MWS/Broker/Optimize servers.

Leading the team in migrating all the interfaces to new version and coordinating with various application team in testing them in new version

Planning the go-Love to perfection.

Project: HRIS

Yara International Jan-2011 to Jun 2011

Off shore lead and Senior Developer

This project aims at distributing HRIS info from Yara SAP system to its subsidiaries in various countries.

Yara SAP system sends FF to webMethods by invoking webMethods service using HTTPS. The interface parses the source FF, maps it to target specification as per the mapping sheet, converts it into FF string and sends it to the target country using their preferred protocol.

There are a total of 10 interfaces (10 different countries) with the delivery preference of FTP/SFTP.

Handling of large files is key in this project.
