Answered busy phones for the Mobilehome Ombudsman Unit. Handled complaints against manufacturers, dealers, and salespeople. Sent out complaint forms and/or referred to appropriate staff. Sent out on legal paper for the licensees to respond to the department for allegations pertaining to fraud or unable to meet the agreement to the consumers expectation. Referred mobilehome park residents to appropriate field office or contact the park inspector myself for health & safety issues. Also work done to mobile homes without the proper permits, etc. Mediated non-jurisdictional complaints as it pertains to the mobile home residency laws. Referred consumers to other protective agencies such as the Golden State Mobilehome Owners League and also their local authorities in the appropriate jurisdiction.
