Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) of a Pipeline: This project involved the preliminary design of a 5 km 10-inch HP/HT in-field flowline tied back to the host facility. Carried out pipe wall thickness calculations (per API RP 1111, 49 CFR 192, ASME B31.8). Integral ring type buckle arrestors were designed for S-lay installation. Also calculated on-bottom stability, pipe-soil interaction study free spanning, flowline expansion and global buckling, installation analysis; allowable span lengths were determined based on dynamic and static requirements for installation and operating conditions. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of a drill string connector: Carried out stress analysis (located the maximum stress and strain location) in a pre-loaded drill pipe box and pin connector. Grid sensitivity analysis was carried out to ensure accuracy of results. Improved stress performance through geometry optimization. Design of 10 ksi riser: Sizing of Top-tensioned riser pipe was done in accordance with drift requirement and design pressure with material selected based on NACE and API 5L. Calculated total hanging weight, von mises stresses and sized tensioners to carry total riser weight. Also calculated loads resulting from wave and currents; estimated fatigue life of riser. In addition, riser performance was modelled in DeepRiser software and tension and stress joints were optimized.

Computational Fluid Dynamics: Conducted a three level, three factor investigation on a fracking manifold with proppant settling issues when in transient conditions (using StarCCM+ and JMP Pro). Flow Assurance: Developed a subsea green field architecture. Sized production tubing, flowline, riser, gas lift, water and chemical injection lines using PIPESIM. Optimized production by optimizing line sizes, gas and water injection rates. Identified and proffered solution to potential flow assurance challenges e.g wax, hydrates, erosion.

Optimization of manifold location: Reduced order mathematical models were utilized in modelling multiphase fluid flow in a HIPPS based subsea system. Matlab/Simscape was coupled with a multi- disciplinary design optimization software (HEEDS mdo) to explore the design space and achieve optimization of system parameters.

Subsea processing scheme design: Design included sizing a two-phase subsea separator, the oil flowline, the gas flowline, subsea pump and the power system. ACTIVITIES AND INTERESTS
