Weyerhaeuser Export Lumber 2.5 years

As a Contract Programmer at Weyerhaeuser in Federal Way, I converted a Sys/36

Order Entry system to the AS/400. OCL was converted to CL and RPG2 was converted to RPG3. The conversion project lasted for 6 months. During the next 2 years all applications were written in RPG3 and CL.

I wrote Access programs to evaluate the efficiency of wait staff calculating the number of table turns in a shift. I wrote programs to manage inventory and calculate menu pricing.

Weyerhaeuser Container Board Packaging 6 months

I led a project where we designed a system to download data from mid range computers to be imported into a database. I designed and wrote thep database system in MS Access and Access basic to consolidate downloaded data from an

AS/400 and a HP3000. The consolidated data was used to produce several major sales reports and extracted information. Some of the data was extracted and automatically distributed via spreadsheet and E-Mail to other company locations. As a Consultant at Weyerhaeuser Containerboard Packaging, I led a project where we designed and wrote a system to download data from a mid range computer to an Access database. This application was for raw material needs forecasting. The system was distributed to 47 box plants to be used by sales managers.

Hillhaven Nursing Home Management 5 years

As a Project Leader at Hillhaven Inc. I developed the functional system design and detailed program design for a General Ledger System including a custom report writer. My team and I wrote programs and implemented them on a UNISYS A15 using COBOL, DMSII, Cande, and MCP.

Tacoma-Pierce County Blood Bank 19 Months

I wrote a Blood Bank Management System, the first ever approved by the FDA, system using RPG2, RPG3, OCL, CL, System/36 and AS400. This system admitted patients and categorized them as to blood type, antigens and antibodies.

It had the capability of automatically calling the patient's homes as an aid in blood drives. The system is still in use in over one hundred locations internationally.

Crawford and Co. 10 months

I wrote a Workmans Compensation Insurance Processing System on an AS/400 using Cobol. The system was distributed nationwide.

I maintained a time and materials system for this law firm on a System/36 using RPGIII. I found a commercially available Time and Materials package for the firm, made arrangements for it's purchase, installed and trained the company staff.

At GTE Alaska in Arlington, I designed and wrote a telephone service order entry system for eight locations in Alaska with automatic data communications to Arlington using Microsoft Access, Access Basic, PC Anywhere.
