Major GPA: 3.472/4.0
EXPERIENCE:
Illumina (PRO Unlimited), Hayward October 2015-Present Manufacturing Associate
Perform final product quality control procedures to ensure high performing instruments.
Analyze instrument statistical data to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical system issues that may arise during testing.
Execute validation/qualification projects of instrument parts to improve and streamline manufacturing.
Experience with good documentation and manufacturing practices to ensure safety and compliance with FDA regulations.
Modlin Laboratory, UCLA September 2014-September 2015 Laboratory Assistant
Perform cell culture techniques such as freezing/thawing T cells, Ficoll-Paque, and harvesting cells after radioactive proliferation assay.
Responsible for basic laboratory maintenance including autoclaving, preparing buffers and reagents, stocking, and inventory.
RESEARCH:
Senior Bioengineering Capstone Design Project September 2014- March 2015
Worked in a group of six students to build a cryogen delivery system aimed at treating mesothelioma, a type of lung cancer.
Designed experiments to test the effectiveness of our device on mesothelioma tumor cells and supplementing the device with vacuum insulation, CAD handle, and wireless control system. Grundfest Laboratory, UCLA March 2013-September 2014 Research Assistant
Testing different substrates for an effective new treatment for infected surgical wounds by applying laser- generated shockwaves to disrupt bacterial biofilm.
Also began testing the effects of low intensity focused ultrasound and antibiotics on Staphylococcus epidermidis biofilm.
Bioengineering Laboratory 167 Course Winter 2013
The course culminated with each student designing a research project. My project tested how cell adhesion affects cell growth.
Learned common laboratory skills and techniques such as PCR, Western blot, bioconjugation, mammalian cell line (HeLa) cloning and culturing, ELISA, cell counting/cytometry, micro-pipetting, gel electrophoresis.
