County of Hudson, New Jersey.
Lead Systems Administrator. Led the administration and operational budget for Hudson County’s IT Department. Maintained and supported workstations and more than 100 servers (2003/2012) spanning five county campuses and county administration and correctional facility.
Virtual and Private Cloud. Improved county operations by developing and implementing a plan to virtualize and create a private cloud system using Microsoft Windows, VCE VBlock, Dell VStart and Cisco VSAN solutions.
Video Conference/Arraignment. Reduced transportation and overtime spending by developing and implementing a video conference/arraignment system that connected the Correctional facility to the Court House.
Infrastructure Redesign. Enhanced network performance (1 GB to redundant 10 GB links) by developing and implementing a plan to replace core routers and switches within the county.
Parks WiFi/Security Design. Designed and implemented a WiFi and video surveillance system for a series of parks
Office of Emergency Management. Increased emergency preparedness by designing and developing a data center where OEM can build and deploy ad hoc servers and workstations in the event of an emergency.
Harrison School Board. Improved the flow of data traffic and network stability by developing and implementing a plan to restructure the Harrison School Board data network. Improved server operations by migrating the physical server network structure to a virtual structure.
Essex County Electronic Medical Record System. Enhanced Essex County’s medical record capability by helping the development and rollout of GE Logician Electronic Medical Records System. Developed custom screens for patient records and Inmate workflow.
Morris Regional School District. Improved the district’s IT infrastructure by helping the IT department migrate to Windows 2000 Server and Exchange Server 2000. Assisted in deploying 1000 Mb Ethernet to classrooms. Developed an import utility to assist large scale importation of user accounts from their AS/400.
St. Joseph School. Modernized the school by designing the wiring layout, soliciting vendors to donate money and equipment for network upgrade, negotiating with vendors for best value internet service, and designing and maintained a student tracking and information system.
Storage and Migration Achievements. Reduced online storage requirements and supported long term secure storage of archival documents by developing a Storage Solution plan. Improved email efficiency by migrating county’s simple POP3/SMTP mail server to Microsoft Exchange server.
