Mr. Yount’s current and present position within the Substation / Switchyard / Transmission Engineering Design Group as the Lead Electrical Supervising Physical Designer III. He has the responsibility of lead electrical physical designer to initiate and maintain the control of assigned design activities within the Bechtel (STE) group and within the electrical discipline of Bechtel. He applies and demonstrates a broad and diversified knowledge of engineering design principles and industry practices to project engineering. Makes decisions independently, confers with associates concerning problems within the Electrical, Plant Design, Civil/Structural disciplines on the project, and provides suggestions and solutions towards engineering and design on behalf of specific assigned projects and for Bechtel Management. Mr. Yount represents the electrical discipline on the project level day to day and with the client(s) as required to resolve technical questions, and issues as required. He is responsible for the design and drafting activities on a medium size project in an engineering, design discipline on a day to day basis. He leads, supervises, and provides technical direction and advice to associate designers and CADD drafters. Consistently, Mr. Yount has taken on the responsibility to communicate on behalf of the assigned project(s) in complex technical issues and provides personal recommendations towards solutions to discipline team, supervisors, construction, subcontractors and to upper management. His skilled engineering, design detailed activities frequently requires his review and approval of key engineering drawings, specifications, bid summaries, and calculations, including technical specifications. Mr. Yount’s broad and extensive knowledge includes Engineering, Design, Construction and current industry practices, regulatory standards, codes for the electrical tasks, which he performs on a daily basis and in support of construction activities during installation of the defined project scope of work. His responsibility also required his input to the writing of specifications and has achieved success the writing of technical subcontracts, specifications, equipment specifications; establish design criteria pertinent to particular disciple projects. He also demonstrates an excellent knowledge of Bechtel’s administrative, technical practices and supervisory experience.
Recent switchyard projects worked by Mr. Yount within Bechtel as a Lead Electrical Supervisor Designer for the Substation Transmission Engineering Group includes a previous project on the Jamnagar Expansion Project. Other projects current and very recent past were RIO MESA, (230kV), CVSR Solar Power Project (34.4kV) Distribution OH Power Lines, Angola Power (34.5kV) Transformer Switchyards and Transmission Lines, Ivanpah Solar Power Project with 115kV UG XLPE Cable and 34.5kV OH Power Line, Athens (345kV) Switchyard, Sammis, (345kV) Switchyard, Springerville, (345kV) Switchyard, Elm Road (345kV Switchyard Upgrade and Transformer Switchyards. Review and Checking of Russell City (230kV Switchyard) and Catalina (230kV Switchyard) Subcontract Design Package.
