Main project - TONGUE CONTROLLED WHEELCHAIR
We introduce a new system for the physically challenged, an automatic wheel chair that can be controlled by the relative tongue movement of the patient. An automatic wheelchair has been undoubtedly one of the most useful inventions ever made in history. Even though wheelchairs are considered very useful for the physically challenged people, they still find it difficult to maneuver it without the help of someone else. They always need someone to push the chair on uphill roads and other difficult places. So, an automatic wheelchair came as a boon to them and has been the favorite among them for long time now.
The biggest advantage of automatic wheelchairs is that they give the physically challenged person a sense of freedom and comfort like he has never felt before. Particularly, elders find it very easier to move across and do things on their own.
We used Hall Effect sensors to detect the position of the tongue. This intelligent wheelchair is a microcontroller based system, the movements of wheelchair is controlled by the MCU through proper DC motor driving mechanisms which are used to control the rotation of the DC geared motors which are connected to the tires of the chair. Obstacle sensors and a pit sensor are also attached with the wheelchair.

Mini project - LOW COST ENERGY METER
Electromechanical energy meters have been the standard for metering the electricity since billing began. But these are now being gradually replaced by digital signal processor (DSP)-based energy meters, or kilowatt-hour (KWh) meters.
Energy meter is used in houses, industries, etc. Nowadays energy meter we are using is very costly. So we designed a low cost energy meter which is a modified version of “Digital Energy Meter” with very simple displaying section to avoiding the difficulty of non availability and high price of counter-cum-LED display driver IC. We solved this problem by the usage of a simple seven segment LCD display of a calculator.
main project- LOCAL POSITIONING SYSTEM WITH VECTOR DETERMINATION
An LPVD system uses atleast one node to track a location of a mobile tag. The system measures flight times of signals communication between the node and the tag to determine values indicative of the range of the tag from the node. Multiple antennas are used at both nodes and the tag to provide more accurate range estimate and to determine when the tag is entering a dead zone where signals are blocked or attenuated by obstacles.
A LPS is similar to a GPS system but restricted to a specified area usually a building or campus normally LPS are very accurate. Such positioning system also use the triangulation method for locating the target. The idea is to use an RF Positioning where the item under observation will send out a beacon signal periodically. This signal will be picked up by 3 or more strategically placed receiver. The signal strength is used to calculate the distance of the object from the receiver.
Local Positioning System with Vector Determination is an object_detection system which uses ultrasonic/infrared wave to determine the range, altitude, direction, or speed of both moving and fixed objects such as guided objects, motor vehicles, weather formation and human/animals. Its objects sensor, transmits pulses of radio waves or microwaves which bounce off any object in their path. The object returns a tiny part of the wave’s energy to a receiver which is usually located at the same site as the transmitter.
The information provided by the device includes the bearing and range (and therefore position) of the object from the Local Positioning System with Vector Determination scanner. It is thus used in many different fields where the need for such positioning is cruicial. The first use of Local Positioning System with Vector Determination was for military purposes: to locate air, ground and sea targets.
This proposed project is for high end security application. The two interfaces, the object sensor and the PC software will track the object. If any object will come with in the range of the sensor the main controller sends the information to the PC software and it will display its position. From their the technical person can easily find the objects position and its degree of movement. The second stepper is to track and the object if it come with in the range.
