ABS is the core payer system that caters to Health Net’s Western Region Membership. The system is built on VAX/VMS platform and uses BASIC and COBOL. The goal of the project is to enhance/develop the functionalities in ABS. There are multiple projects under AO like HIPAA 5010 to enhance ABS to the new 5010 HIPAA standard, Open enrollments projects, to enhance the system to accommodate new plans, new enrollments during the end of every year. Other responsibilities are to work on the existing operational issues, performing bug fixes, implementing minor projects. As part of HN AO ABS projects, performing the onsite lead role for the membership sub- system of ABS, providing solution to the existing problems, developing value add to the business users and customer support.

OIS application is used to run on OpenVMS Version 7.3-2 a 32 bit operating System which has been moved to Itanium Server that uses Version V8.3 with 64 bit operating System for the plants MTV (Cpp & Lexan) and BURKVILLE. FORMULA VERIFICATION (FV) System was removed from the OIS and made into a separate application for the above sites. Resolved the Multiple downloads issues for BURKVILLE. At MTV, Cpp & Lexan used to run on cluster nodes, which were upgraded, to different nodes as a part of Migration. The DB Backups have been removed from the Application, which reduced the monitoring task for the Offsite team.
