Academic Projects and Accomplishments
Rural Road Development and Design Tools: Total Station, Auto CAD Civil 3D
Lead the team that designed a low volume pavement which stretches for almost 1 mile, ensuring the long term demands (10 years) of growing traffic and emerging infra in accordance with IRC 37:2001.
Surveying of the road length is done using Total Station and transformed the coordinates to model the road in Auto CAD Civil 3D
Performed traffic volume study through static analysis and by interviewing to bring out the best possible results and created a trend in traffic flow for the next decade from past data to quantify the loads.
The pavement is designed for the obtained loads and it comprises a Sub base of 315mm, Road base of 250mm and bituminous layer of 25mm SDBC+70mm DBM.
Structural Analysis of a 2-D Frame idealized model Tools: STAAD Pro, Etabs, Mastan, SAP2000
A comprehensive structural analysis under earthquake (lateral) loading maneuvered by various software tools like SAP2000 V15, ETABS, STAAD Pro V8i and MASTAN to suggest a best way to counter lateral loading (earthquake loading in this case)
Marked the contrasts in outcomes upon inclusion of shear wall and vertical bracing for a 2-D bare frame.
It is concluded that the frame with the shear wall is having the least values of point deflections and story drifts.
Light Weight Concrete
Fly Ash, a by-product of thermal power production, is used for the achieving a mix design of light weight concrete.
It is accomplished by replacing fine aggregate of M35 grade by weight using simple replacement method following IS 456:2000 standards.
The samples exhibited strengths varying between 75 95% of actual strength making it economically viable by slashing the concrete production cost by 10-20% and increasing workability of the product.
Extra Curricular Activities
Captain of college level soccer team for 2012-2014 period
Co-organizer for various medical and blood donation camps
Publicity and funds coordinator for AAGAMA, a national level annual tech fest, at CVSR College of Engineering for years 2013 and 2014
