Required of this position of Telecommunications Specialist was to test all failed service of each phone reported out of service. Each call was created in our on line work order system and closed by me each day. Placed orders with Bellsouth for new service, then it was my responsibility to bring new service to the end-user. Testing POS at all school cafeteria and making repairs. Helped out in the IT Department doing start-up of VOIP and building computer labs at various schools, set ting up printers.

Inspecting new homes for the Savannah Electric Company, all homes had to meet the criteria for the Good Cents program. Inspecting for insulation used and the R factor rating: R-30 R-19 R-13. Evaluating the central air units for the seer rating, ventilation of attic water heater used. I worked closely with each contractor to see that all facets were adhered to. Each element was documented and inputted daily.

Westinghouse Security Systems: 9/91-11/94

Installing and servicing alarms systems in homes and some businesses. These systems were connected directly to the phone line giving the ability to dial out to the call center to report intrusions or any emergency condition at the customer’s site.

Hargray Telephone Company: 7/79-5/91

Installing and repairing phones for homes, and businesses key systems and PBX. Analyzing all types of out of service conditions of phones: open lines to shorted, ground and battery. Made cable splices on cut and damaged cable. Have locating underground cable painted and flagged path of cable to prevent damage from construction activity. Located faulted cable with the Dynatel 573 & 730. Central office cutovers; and cable throws. Setting pedestals after installing underground cabling, working along with the cable crew. Customer’s satisfaction and service was always my number one priority.
